War in Ukraine

I'm just trying to figure out who "punched Russia" in your terrible analogy.

Which probably doesn't matter since you seem to think that all that is required for retaliation in your made up scenario is a belief that one has been punched, rather than actually suffering a punch.

So bizarre.
LSU has been on my ignore list for a long time. He / she / it has nothing meaningful to add to this forum.

I'll be more than happy to elaborate further when I'm not on mobile, but up front, they share the blame, not "are to blame" implying that Russia/Putin is absolved of any responsibility.

No. You're just flat out wrong.

Putin invaded Ukraine to get the band back together. He saw the dissolution of the USSR as "the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century". Invading Ukraine had nothing to do with "NATO expansion"... in fact, Russia invaded Ukraine *because* it wasn't part of NATO.

Finland joined NATO due to this, and now Russia shares a 1,000K border with a NATO country. Why hasn't Putin invaded this "threat"?

*crickets*

If that's the case, why haven't they invaded Belarus? The Stans? Azerbaijan (with it's significant oil reserves)?

Kinda defeats the whole argument you're making about "getting the Soviet Empire" back together

The fact that you even mentioned Belarus shows you aren’t really informed enough for this discussion. It’s always acting as a client state and Putin hasn’t remotely hid his desire for integrating it with Russia.

Ukraine is being invaded because they attempted to choose their own future apart from Russia.

Putin is unwilling to jeopardize Turkey's position as a thorn in NATO's side from within to go after azerbaijan and the stans outright, hes gotta share them with erdogan.

Belarus is in his pocket already, they just can't make it official without the people throwing his puppet out of office

Moscow REFUSES To Commit to Putin-Zelensky Peace Talks, saying 40-minute call with Trump was only 'fairly constructive' - as Finland's PM questions if 'untrustworthy' Kremlin Despot has 'courage' needed to act following US-led bid to end Ukraine war

Vladimir Putin has failed to commit to peace talks with President Zelensky - fuelling fears he will pull out of efforts to end the Ukraine war at the last minute.

It comes as the Kremlin branded a 40-minute phone call between President Trump and Putin on Monday as 'frank' and only 'fairly constructive'.

Meanwhile, the Finnish prime minister also urged caution about the prospects for peace in Ukraine - as he labelled his Russian counterpart as 'untrustworthy'.

Speaking after he left Trump's historic talks in the White House with Zelensky and other European leaders, Alexander Stubb said: 'Putin is rarely to be trusted.

Stubb's rhetoric was in stark contrast to that of President Trump who hailed the success of Monday's talks in the White House.

Putin has never been open to any sort of peace except through the total capitulation and surrender of Ukraine.

He's going to string Trump along for as long as he can, dangling the thought of a Nobel Peace Prize in front of him every chance he gets, and communicate just though to keep new sanctions from being levied against Russia, and any additional weapons being given to Ukraine.

Trump will fall for it because he's easily flattered, and he erroneously believes that geopolitical strategy is the same as doing a real estate deal, and that if he can just get Putin to "like" him enough, then he'll do what he wants.

Belarus? 😆 That country's vassal status only reinforces my point.

NATO’s absence was obviously a huge facilitating factor in Putin's invasion of Ukraine not the sole cause. Russia’s broader goals - preventing Ukraine’s Western alignment, asserting regional dominance, and reinforcing Putin’s domestic legitimacy and perceived legacy - were also critical. Russia’s 2008 invasion of Georgia, another non-NATO state with Western aspirations, followed a similar pattern where Putin targeted a vulnerable neighbor - unprotected by NATO.

Sorry that you don't feel Putin is invading other countries fast enough. 😆 Given that Russia has lost over 10K tanks and IFVs in Ukraine, Putin will have to put his expansionist wet dreams on hold for awhile.

This.

Hope this is wrong, but it would accurately reflect what history has proven true about Trump: He's extremely impatient, short-focused, prone to wildly changing policy and positions, and can easily be manipulated by others through his ego. He's also one to approach relationships with others on a purely transactional basis... if Putin offers him a fiddle made of gold, get ready to rosin up your bow, Ukraine.

Yeah, that was bizarre.
he's been absolutely cracked for over 2 years repeating the same 10 or 12 lines in a frenetic craze, and has now spent the last 6 months calling everyone insane while telling them to go die for zelensky

somebody hurt that dude real bad

Did Trump end the war yet? It's been 24 hours and his "negotiation tactic " he has had at the ready since 2023 should have worked..right?
Give him a break. He told the whole world before this last meeting with Putin there would consequences if there wasn't a cease fire agreement. At least he's trying🤭

I’m still waiting for those “severe consequences” that he promised if there was no ceasefire. Hollow promises and idle bluster as usual.

Again I ask, where is Monty Hall when we need him?

Well, you missed out him telling all of us that Osama bin Laden was a "good guy."

His team won, and now you're doing his bidding for him (by paying his team and bombing their enemies for them). I can't help insanity.

You lost, the good guys don't lose. There isn't anything complex about this, your feelings are hurt. 🤷‍♂️ I mean I can lie and tell you that you're part of the good guys but obviously you're not, heck, you want more people to die for something not only are you most likely going to lose but in which you are too scared yourself to fight.

Instead of getting mad at me, which you clearly are and getting mad at words you would look in the mirror and figure out why all this stuff your team is involved is - is generally on the loser side. Could it be you are a bad guy? Is it possible?

Will Wade broke him.

I think you guys are broke which is why you have to make up lies, you are making up lies now that running off in helicopters and C-17s as fast as you can is how the good guys act. Pure mental illness. Posting on a forum with more lies isn't going to make you a good guy, but it is guilty pleasure watching a bunch of people convince themselves they are the good guys.

Next thing you guys are going to tell me is putting on triple ply face diapers is going to stop a virus. (rinse and repeat the goofy ass insanity)

All the smart tough internet good guy warriors in this thread but not one will sign-up. Mental illness that I will never be able to solve.

(I don't think you could convince me you're not mentality ill, but if you go - at least you might change my mind that you're not a 🐔 💩)

I'd call this trolling, but trolls tend to be coherent. These are the insane ramblings of a disordered mind.

Yes, winning is when you jump on C-17s and start dropping civilians from the land gear. Than the people you claim is your enemy you supply them with weapons and money, and bomb other countries for them so the can take over. I'm sure that is was all part of your sane plan.

You still haven't made it out of the acceptance stage. There really isn't anything complex about this. 🤷‍♂️
