War in Ukraine

It’s an interesting question to ask who the more useless people are: the ones who change their values for Trump or the alt right types who will die on the hill of Putin being the saint in all of this?
Not an interesting question. Both useless idiots. As useless as those who claim Trump is a Russian stooge mind you

Yup. And one good thing to come out of this is that Trump now understands that what everyone has been telling him all along is correct. Zelensky isn't the problem, Putin is the problem.
Trump has supposedly “finally realized this” many times. All that happens is he threatens sanctions for a few weeks then thinks up fresh new concessions to Putin.

He's part of the problem too. There is not a world that exists where he doesn't make territory concessions
He isn’t going to do that without military guarantees. If not from NATO officially than probably from countries individually, like the UK and France. Every Putin proposal is basically contingent on Ukraine being completely defenseless for a second invasion. There is just no way he can agree to that.

Somehow I don’t think Zelensky is going to go for many if any land concessions. If he does, I will be shocked.

It really depends on the state of the Ukrainian army which is something none of us is qualified to know or comment on (unless we have a Senior Ukrainian Military official as a poster on here).

His incompetence isn't lessened because Biden was more incompetent.
Considering that Biden was a vegetable, there was nowhere to go but up on the competence scale. We’ll see how this Ukraine stuff goes. It will probably involve ultimately land concessions from Ukraine.

Calling the diddler on the roof a “breath of fresh air” is gross.
We’re in the Ukraine thread. I made that comment with regards to the handling of Ukraine.

Go to the Epstein thread if you want to see how critical I’ve been of his handling of that.

Neither one have any business anywhere near the White House. We shouldn't be rationalizing incompetence.

Ultimately, I think we all agree that we want the conflict to end. Trump is at least extending the olive branch and trying to form a peaceful resolution, which is in stark contrast to Biden’s constant fueling (weapons/funding) of the conflict.

Now the GOP wants to send aid to Ukraine though, which sucks.

What Russia has taken on the battlefield, they'll have to get to keep. It's that simple, and I don't see any way around it at all. Zelenskyy will cry and b!tch, but he was unable to take back the land. That's the way the world has worked for thousands of years.

Probably accurate. There might be some border regions Ukraine could get back but I imagine most of the land would stay with Russia unless Ukraine could just collapse their army. There is so much misinformation out there about the state of both armies that it is hard to get a grasp on the true situation.

I just realized those ****ing germans haven't been paying their taxes for almost a century

Whatever

What do you mean by “as per usual?” Was not aware they meet on a regular basis for high level talks. When they do is about the war or do they play checkers, leading to these usual results you know so much about.

Please, tell us, who would you like to see doing these negotiations and what would your realistic expectations be after a few hours of discussion?
What concession has Trump managed to get out of Putin?

Lol he threatened him with crushing sanctions, and then rewarded him with a state visit to the United States instead.

Just poking fun, sorry for the interruption. Back to Trump getting worked over.

So what, if any, concession should he come out of that meeting with? You have b!tched about the meeting endlessly since Friday, but apparently are not able to share with the board what your expectations were. Heck. Run for office and tell us how much better you'd do things with clear, concrete actions that you'd accomplish. Shoot I'm still waiting for an answer to my question to you about what you expected out it. But let's push it a bit further since you doubled down. What would you have done or accomplished with Putin in a three or so hour summit? Please. Tell us.

That's literally the default MAGA response when it gets pointed out to you that in spite of your continued faith, Trump has zero leverage with Putin, and has made zero effort to affect the situation, other than cut off military aid to Ukraine, and reward Putin for killing more Ukrainian civilians since he took office.

You might want to re-read the sentence you "quoted." That was a comma, not a period.

I know, grammar can sometimes trip us up. Happens to me sometimes. Try again.
