I made a post earlier and videos like this tend to support it. I think Trump and his staff see the European leftist governments as the real threat. I don't think they hate Europe (as in the nations in people) but the elected government officials in Europe. JD Vance's comments to show that. If you go a lot of MAGA meetings, there is animosity towards Europe who they see as using us, leftist communists, anti-Christian, anti-Free Speech, etc. Meanwhile, European version of MAGA movements continue to grow and it seems like a lot of Trump's strategy towards Europe is to undermine the current leaders and empower these MAGA movements in the European nations.

Everyone is literally reporting that. The meeting was to sign that agreement and Zelenskyy wouldn't do it. It doesn't paint USA in a good light but that is what all that spat was about.

That and I just don't think Trump and his staff like Zelenskyy's government because it supported Biden.

Starmer was close to getting thrown in the fireplace as well...I was like you can't come in here and do that. Trump handled that pretty well...started talking about Russia gate...told him to go fight the russians.

That is immaterial. Literally every article on the meeting today is talking about the reason the whole spat started was because Zelenskyy would not sign the deal. I am sorry you are too hard headed to read about it. How about posting less and reading more.

Mining analysts and economists say that Ukraine has no commercial operational rare earth mines.

The State Geological Service said Ukraine has one of Europe's largest confirmed reserves, estimated at 500,000 metric tons, of lithium - vital for batteries, ceramics, and glass. Titanium reserves are mostly located in northwestern and central Ukraine, while lithium is in the centre, east and southeast.

Zelensky offered the REM deal last fall..so he would of been deceptive.

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says a major minerals deal with the US has been agreed.

Zelensky raised the prospect of access to some of the country's mineral wealth last year, when he presented a "victory plan" to Western partners.

Trump knew Zelensky wasn't signing that BS agreement before he sent Bessent to Ukraine with it the first time.

This was 100% about trying to fabricate a scenario where Trump could call Zelensky a barrier to "peace" and continue to cow tow to Putin.

If Trump were serious about an actual lasting peace he'd call out Putin, and he'd offer a solution that provided actual security guarantees which would deter Russia from future invasions, he hasn't and he won't because he's not serious about a lasting peace.

That's a relatively small reserve of lithium all things considered. It's half of what w have in the states alone.

Zelensky forgot whose house he was in, had to be reminded, and was reminded.

Judging from Zelensky’s recent tweet, he either got the message, or he received valuable counsel from a trusted advisor regarding his political viability.

I think this is a good sign for those of us who want the killing to stop.

A deal was done, as far as US officials were concerned, and then Zelenskyy asked for more after engaging in a spat with VP JD Vance. According to CBS News' Jennifer Jacobs:

"Trump fully intended to sign the minerals deal today. Two official binders were prepared -- Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and his Ukrainian counterpart and the two presidents were going to sit at a conference table in the East Room and then trumpet their success at podiums."
