War in Ukraine

Own security (choose correctly or the US will find someone who will). We knew Ukraine in nato was a red line in 2008 right? Why push it?
Ukraine isn't in NATO now, nor were there any new talks in 2014 or before 2022. all the talks after 2022 have circled back to a flat "no". the last time Ukraine applied they were told no, how is that "pushing it"?

Agree. I think the confusion point the Pro-Russian camp keeps getting mixed up on was EU member. Ukraine was in consideration for EU membership. The Ukraine in NATO talks only started after Crimea was occupied.

BTW, the United States is NOT a member of the EU.

Debunked by whom? You really believe a coup that suited US interests was organic?

"Yanukovych has also promised to move ahead to meet EU requirements for signing a so-called Association Agreement, including a free-trade package that would help exporters gain more market share in the 27-nation bloc."

Yanukovych campaigned on a promise of closer western ties. once elected he pushed towards closer western ties. he was days away from signing a deal with the west. then suddenly he not only drops the deal with the west but also picks up a brand new deal with Russia that had not been through the Rada. Ukrainians were pissed because their elected leader completely flipped what he had promised to do, and not only that he betrayed them by getting into a worse deal with Russia.

It wasn't a western coup, it was a Russian one.

The talking points around a coup in Ukraine are stupid. It wasn't a Pro-USA Coup, it was Ukrainians wanting a more Democratic government rather than a Russian Puppet. It has shown how popular it was by the Ukrainian continued support for the regime and war. Ukrainians feel like the victims here.

Sounds like some people in this thread just hate people rising up to become more Democratic.

If anything, it was a "Pro-EU" revolution, considering that Yanukovych was elected under his promise to forge closer ties with the EU, and his backpedaling on that promise (at Putin's insistence) being what caused people to turn out in mass protest against his government.

Agree and I made another post after this about it. People on here think EU=NATO but they are two different organizations with two different purposes.

That’s not answering the question of what could we give Ukraine to stop “Russia in its tracks”.

More advanced Patriot systems isn’t stopping meat waves and armor.
Hogg you don't know **** about military tactics, and you clearly don't know **** about how Russia successfully took Avdiivka. They're trying to replicate the same tactics with glide-bombing, so yes, stopping their ability to do so effectively nullifies meat waves.

You don't know **** about anything since you haven't been able to back up any of your wild ass claims in this thread. It wasn't glide bombs that took the city, it was an overwhelming number of infantry and armor backed by artillery that took the city.

Once again, you prove your overwhelming ignorance.

Just do us all a favor and Google "Russia glide bomb" to educate yourself.

The only way Ukraine wins (and what winning means needs to be defined) this war without US troops on the ground is with an influx of advanced fighter/bomber aircraft and the pilots/crews capable of flying/maintaining them. Patriot or other anti-aircraft systems are not going to provide air superiority and Ukraine will need absolute air superiority to drive the Russians back. They will need to have the capability to strike any Russian position and movement quickly, disrupt the supply lines and kill communications. Until Ukraine can do that no amount of AA systems is winning this war.

You my friend are proving your overwhelming ignorance and susceptibility to propaganda again. Just as when you argued national debt isn't and will never be a problem.

Seriously, do you suffer from Tourette's Syndrome? I mean you make absolutely random verbal diarrhea without any rhyme or reason.

Yeah, I figured you weren't capable of doing a simple internet search.

Here, Gramps, I helped you out. Now if you can only read... Hmmm...

All of it you ignorant old fart.

I'm not wrong at all in my post. Glide bombs aren't going to win this war for russia anymore than more ground based anti-aircraft systems are going to win it for Ukraine. Come on MacAthur impress us with your vast military strategy knowledge and explain to us what Ukraine needs to "stop Russia in it's tracks".
