That is false.

Your assertion ignores the fact that Russia was fueling a war against Ukrainian forces in the Donbas throughout Trump's presidency. I'm sure that you remember the circumstances surrounding Trump's 1st impeachment. Trump had withheld $400 million in military aid to the Ukraine. That aid had been designated by Congress for the purpose of assisting the Ukraine in their fight against those Kremlin-backed rebels.

News is reporting the sanctions put in place today were actually already in effect as of 2014... on the banks. As well, Nord-2 is not set for certification until late summer... so adding that to the list is meaningless. No near term bite in any of the tough sanctions by Biden. Putin laughing.

Then what is the problem? Putin was in Donbas before and is currently. If he invades proper Ukraine then it is on Biden's watch.

Makes sense. The situation on the ground in eastern Ukraine hasn't really changed all that much (so far), so they didn't change the sanctions regime all that much (so far).

To me it shows me Russia is irrelevant to the US economy., as expected. But the effects upon the effects on our allies will be our demise, will be the narrative. Well then, lets sanction those that dont sanction Russia. What a rabbit hole.
