We signed a treaty, with a country that only exists, because the country that owned the land where we wanted to build the Canal, wouldn't sign the treaty under the terms we offered.

Could we have maintained control? Yes.I didn't say that there weren't problems but there was still no reason we should have given up control of the canal zone.
Could we have maintained control? Yes.
But really, how long do you want to have troops stationed in a place where the locals don't want you there, even if it's not at the boiling point? Indefinitely?
Russians and Ukrainians have passed through that canal which should make it admissible in the court of this thread.I feel like the Panama Canal stuff belongs in its own thread and not on here.
However, I don't see how people can't realize that the Canal is vital for US defense. How do you think WW2 would have gone if the USA could not use the Canal and had to send all their newly built warships around Argentina to get to the Pacific to fight Japan?
The problem is the countries like China will pay any money to gain control of something as important as that, which that's what they're trying to do or wanting to do now. I don't think Panama would have any issues taking hundreds of billions of dollars from a communist country. That's why we need to keep control of the canalI feel like the Panama Canal stuff belongs in its own thread and not on here.

Trump is in a tough spot.
This is why he wanted to stay out of jail, was so he can be in power.
The more he complains about people dying every week, the more it comes off as -not having the stomach for war.
Putin HAD, reason to be upset with NATO expansion, but the invasion,,,then the ongoing shooting and killing during proposed peace times have shifted that completely.
For him to install a 3 day ceasefire all for the sake of Russian celebration is ballzy. He's testing Trump.
- Russia doesn't want peace
- Iran WILL have nuclear weapons when they get a real chance
- China will lie and bully until they are fully ready to invade Taiwan.
And All Countries want America destroyed.
Oh it’s coming. They have just started press releasing “nuclear plants we didn’t know about”. So in about a month when we start bombing the piss out of them the public won’t be bent out of shape about it.Which is why we should strike Iran now, back the Ukraine to continue weakening Russia, and have been a heck of a lot slower in our tariff policy policy towards China while we build up our forces and our supply lines
