Defending the following.

14-16 Record-A quarter into his third year, with the best win being over Cincinnati.

4-14 Record-In the SEC, best win is over a 6 win Vanderbilt team.

0-19-Career record against ranked opponets.

36-15-Average margin of defeat against ranked opponets.

6-Number of 30+ point losses while at UT. 5 from SEC opponets.

1-8-Road record in the SEC, lone win was against Vanderbilt.

26-The streak that ended against UK last year in what has to be the lowest of all lows.

If UT were looking to hire a new head coach and one of the candidates career numbers looked like this, would he be someone you would consider worthy for the position?

These threads are getting embarrassing cause everything you just stated is in about 100 different threads floating around. Constant repeat of our down times will not make things better.

Yet you fail to mention any other circumstances that led to that beyond his control.

A starting roster that was on par with the Vandy's and Kentucky's his first year.

A young, promising roster his second year that featured Bray and Hunter getting hurt. Lathers getting hurt. Janzen getting kicked off. In their place we start Simms/Worley, Zach Rogers, two freshman LBs, and a freshman safety.

Three senior classes that were left for him that have been awful beyond comprehension.

And 2-3 mid to late round NFL draft picks left to him.

Think that contributed at all?

But he wears orange pants and is 5-0 in moral victories.

Refer to my 2nd post. When they are this bad, context can be damned.

So are you saying that Dooley is just one unlucky bastard?

And you have posted basically the same response in each one of them.

Dispute any of those and tell me outside of the really bad loss (no defending), what coach in America could be expected to beat UGA, Alabama, Florida, LSU, etc.. in his first two years. You think if Lane would've had a gold mine here, that he would've been so eager to leave? He was even downplaying his 2nd year, midway through his first. That should tell you how bad it was.

You are correct, numbers do not lie. But it is not like we do not have the talent. The players on the team need more football knowledge. That is why we have coaches to take the players to the next level. I am waiting for them to take the team to that next level.

Yet, UT did know these things when they hired Dooley. You know what stat you are not putting in there? No one else wanted the job. I don't know why people can't understand that. We took the best coach that would take the job. Tradition be damned. That is the state of UT football three years ago. Who knows if he is the right guy for the job. He's our coach now.

I do not understand why som fans think all a sudden Dooley is going to become this great coach. He is not a winner and his resume shows that. Our recruiting is middle of the pack SEC at best. The man will not outcoach ANYONE. He can not beat Bama/UF/UGA for the top recruits, so are we just supposed to accept losing because he can't pull the top talent? "They have better players." Yes, and they always will until we have a coach who can fire up the fanbase, recruiting, and prove he can go toe to toe with the rest of the SEC. "We should be happy we kept it close" is something UT fans should never have to say or accept. JMO

You stated an opinion about no other coach wanting the job, I stated nothing but facts.

Still waiting for someone to respond to the question in the OP.
