Sony offically delayed the European launch of the PS3 yesterday by 4 months. Their estimates for production were cut. Their estimate of 4 million by end of the year was cut in half.
Estimates now are 400,000 units for North America and 100,000 units in Japan come November.
Just for comparision, 360 sold 350,000 last November in North America. So, it's pretty much going to be exactly the same with the PS3 as it was with the 360.
I think most will agree demand for the PS3 is much higher so it's going to be harder to get one anytime soon.
Just a heads up for anyone around here wanting one. Get in good with a store employee, start saving money, or be ready to camp for a day.
