From USC Rivals site:
Pete Carroll could look to his past for new DC
Ed Orgeron
The Trojans' former recruiting coordinator left USC after the 2004 undefeated, national championship season to become the head coach at Ole Miss.
After going 10-25 with the Rebels, Orgeron was fired and took a position as the defensive line coach with the New Orleans Saints.
After former USC assistant Lane Kiffin took the head-coaching position at Tennessee on Dec. 1, he hired Orgeron as the Volunteers' defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
Still, Orgeron would almost certainly be interested in returning to the Trojans as their new defensive coordinator.
A tireless recruiter who has helped groom stud linemen like Shaun Cody, Mike Patterson, Warren Sapp and Cortez Kennedy, Orgeron would seamlessly slide into Holt's role.
Orgeron is comfortable coaching in the bright lights that shine on the Trojan football program, and he's very close to Carroll.
While Orgeron was criticized for his work at Ole Miss, he left the fridge stocked for Houston Nutt, who led Ole Miss to a Cotton Bowl over Texas Tech.
