Walls and Hughes -- status?

What's the latest on these two? I heard Fulmer mention Saturday that they are still working on clearinghouse issues that they hope to have resolved in a couple of weeks. Does that mean they aren't practicing with the team?

They are not practicing with the team. Both have yet to be cleared and won't report until they are.

Does anyone have an update on these guys? Walls seems to have the body to contribute some minutes at DE once he gets his feet wet.

Wall's uncle claims he is doing fine in his summer classes and he should be in. A poster on the other board has said that Hughes has been admitted to the university per a certain coach he knows. Nothing offiical, though.

When do those summer classes end? Seem to be running a little long...

It was 2nd term summer classes. I think he has already did one summer class and just finished up his last two. He is waiting on the test scores I believe.

there is talk out there that Hughes has qualified and is on his way to Knoxville

If this is true, this could be huge. Even if he don't play a down this year, this will really go a long ways in getting him ready and in the rotation next year. Assuming he keeps his grades up and remains eligible.

I was at the UT financial aid office yesterday and this guy next to me was told that summer grades don't come out till this Friday

...meaning maybe we won't know anything till friday about grades

Edit: I'm confused with other players aren't I?

I'm guessing this is applicable to G. Williams, but....

When I took Summer classes at UT, (or any semester for that matter) the teacher would usually post the grades somewhere. Whether they would be on a website, or outside their office, you usually didn't have to wait until your grades were all posted to find out where you stood.

I am sure Fulmer will find out before the grades are actually posted.
