"Walking Dead" on AMC

I am kind of upset he cut his hand off. In the middle of the 2nd episode he clearly asks for the hacksaw to cut through the chain on the cuffs. Felt that was stupid.

Just rewatched the last episode and it really hit me how awful the 'I miss texting/coffeemaker/dildo' thing into the domestic violence situation was. Really dull episode, 50 minutes that could've/should've been 5-10 minutes.

It's a drama about surviving during a zombie apocalypse, not an action show about a zombie apocalypse (which would likely get stale).

I understand this is a drama, I just don't like seeing throwaway episodes already, especially when this is a 6 episode season. I've come to terms with the fact that this show will have some awkward dialogue post-episode 1, but that "girl talk" scene just really struck me as awful. Still looking forward to next weeks. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they are going to keep the show interesting in the long term.

Prediction: The guy that sawed off his hand will have the guns.

That is what I was thinking. I also think he heads back to the camp for revenge, and ultimately he and his brother are either sent packing or killed by the other settlers.

I'm thinking there is a good reason he sawed off his hand instead of sawing through the chain. Maybe he was being attacked and didn't have time? I'm sure they will show a flashback.

Maybe he's a Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness fan.

Not sure why he'd hack off his hand when he could just cut the cuff chain and keep on one cuff and be free. No damage done.

I agree, but i guessed the outcome that way because it just seemed more fitting for merle to cut his hand off. The all-thread that the cuffs was latched on sure looked alot easier to hacksaw than a hand btw

Takes me about 30 seconds to hack through a piece of all-thread at work. Let me go test how long it'll take to hack off my hand, brb.

I know. "You told me he was dead." So you think he's been dead for two weeks and are already bangin it out with his best friend.

agreed. what a total whore. she'll find out she's pregant by then end of the season. mark my word.

i have a couple of issues (hey i overthink things!), though so far i've loved it:

a) i can't for the life of me understand how the zombies took over. it's apparently really easy to kill them and then don't move very fast and apparently there are huge pieces of land where there aren't any of them. are you really trying to tell me that a blockade with tanks and army level machine guns wouldn't work? makes no sense. also how did it get overseas?

b) the main dude never asks what happened? how it started? how it spread? why killing them didn't work? wouldn't that be your first question? instead he's like "well i woke up and it's a zombie apocalypse. that sucks." Hell just for his survival you'd think he'd want to know for future reference.

c) apparently getting the blood/guts on your skin is bad, but they are constantly getting blood on themselves and don't seem even remotely concerned about it.

d) i assumed he was left for dead because he was in a coma and they thought he was brain dead, but apparently that isn't true. so why was he the only one left in the hospital and why didn't the zombies smell him and kill him?

It sure did. I don't like that they killed off the hottest girl. :( Other than the last scene, I wasn't a fan of this episode but it was better than the last for sure.

I'll agree with that, solid episode. It'll be interesting to see what ends up happening with Merle.

Didn't get much from the preview for next week's episode.

Oh and this show still way overdoes it with the cheese, I mean some scenes are almost unbearable.

That was an intense ending. I didn't see that coming at all. So much for the dolphin necklace...
