Yeah, you are probably right. In fact, with Blair and Raulerson gone, there may be a couple more unless those have already been assigned to someone else.

I haven't seen any recent numbers with the updated counts. LWS usually keeps up with that sort of thing. Maybe he'll chime in.

Does anyone know with this announcement where we stand against the 85 scholarship limit for 2016? I assume that the incoming 25 limit takes no hit since this player is beyond a second year player?

We've only got 80 scholarship guys right now (depending on if you count Alexis Johnson), including Folger, so there was definitely space under the 85 limit to add him on scholarship. In addition to him earning it I'm sure, him being a senior means it really doesn't affect the numbers situation at all. Since he's been on campus for 2+ years, when he goes on scholarship, he doesn't have to count towards a recruiting class, whereas any recruit that earns a scholly as a walk-on in his first two years must be assigned to a recruiting class, counting as one of those 25 for that class. Hope that makes sense. Every indication is we'll take a full class around 25 for 2017, and with Folger making it 11 scholarship seniors for this season, plus 5 open scholarships available under the 85 limit, it looks like we'll need another 9 or so spots to come available between now and next fall. Count on a few of those spots to become available when Barnett, Hurd, Kamara, and maybe another one or two juniors jump for the NFL after this season. Then we'll have the usual attrition of 4-5 guys moving on/transferring elsewhere.

And again, congrats to Mr. Folger. GBO!

Anyone know what happened to DL walk-on Tyler Stokes from area high school Fulton? He is not on the most recent roster.

Not sure about Stokes in particular, but I know that a handful of guys were told at the end of spring that they would not be back during the summer sessions, but could return to the team once fall term began. Probably the 105 rule...
