Wake Forest coach

I love the people who say our coaches and players would never say such things about a rival player. I just laugh. Hopefully, we are just smart enough to not get caught.
I'm glad there weren't cameras everywhere when I was in the dugout, sideline or locker room....and I could get especially crude on a tennis court. LOL. Ilie Nastase had nothing on me.

Name calling in a competitive game. I can't imagine anyone ever doing that. The fact this was news is ridiculous. Most of the people upset probably never even played a sport or gave a crap about one.
I played ball and I never heard a player cuss at another player nor did I ever do that. Something tells me you’re the one that has never competed.

So you think TV openly cusses at opposing players. Please give us one example. We’ll wait.

:D This thread is all over the place. We've all got opinions, both informed and uninformed, about this situation. My opinion, as many of you, has been formed over many years of societal living. Your opinion, especially on this subject, won't have an iota of influence on my opinion. I know TV is passionate and prob gets too involved emotionally (by his own admission) in the unfolding of games in many instances. Hopefully we can refrain from getting caught up in this type of silliness in the future. I just hate that Cannon lost his composure and now has to sit opening game in Fayetteville.

I think I will choose to plead the fifth. I know very few who don't but what is funny to me is their pitcher had already called Fischer another word that should have gotten him in trouble but everyone must have missed it.

For a well-publicized example, I seem to remember a pretty heated incident with Miss St players and coaches when pulling Beam from the mound in Hoover last year. 😏

Corporate America keeps a close eye on things like this. If you need an example, look no further than Kyle Larson, the best driver in NASCAR right now.

His career was very close to being over with a slip of the tongue while he was basically racing on the video circuit with headphones. This was during the COVID year when everything came to a standstill.

He was suspended by NASCAR and fired by his boss because all of the sponsors started dumping the race team.

When his suspension was over, Rick Hendrick saved his career by hiring him as one of his drivers and sponsoring his car himself.

Corporate America will drop you like a rock for fear of losing sales because of this kind of stupidity. When you're in the public eye, you should be smart enough to not get caught saying stupid stuff.

CTV a hot headed Italian guy whose passion for his profession and team is top notch would definitely spew a few cuss words at the opposing players..

My God who cares! I don’t like the WF coach but it was in the heat of the moment in a sporting event. That doesn’t mean I agree with what he said but he didn’t say it to the player.

Sports brings out the worst in everybody. No need to cancel him for a moment of temporary insanity. I guarantee every single person on this board has said something off color or offensive. If you have not then you must be Jesus Christ himself. Careful what you ask for people. You might be the next one to get cancelled. This crap needs to stop.
Yeah! Bring back throwing homophobic slurs on the regular! Make America Great again!!

No doubt. I can promise bad things were said from our dugout too. These guys aren’t playing golf.

I have no clue what league you were in, but I've heard and seen this in the locker rooms and on the field. I was thrown off my team in high school for coming to practice after drinking on multiple occasions. That's right. The coach kept me after our first talk and the second thrashing he gave me. I had a teacher put me into a wall when no one was around because I needed it when I was a punk kid. He was a Vietnam Marine and I wish he was alive so I could tell him the difference he made for me. All of us don't respond to "You can do better. I believe in you." I joined the USMC at 18 and stayed there for 20 years. I'm not the same punk I was, but I also see how kids that are homeless or neglected respond to society. We have nasty fights and shootings with teenagers across the nation and you think no one cusses at anyone? I've seen coaches sit players for the way they acted and I've seen them let them play because they believe they can still try to create a relationship with a kid that lacks direction. I've also seen coaches lose control and have to be taken off the field. I'm 50 and work in a title 1 high school. A lot of these coaches are involved in sports because they were that punk kid and sometimes those emotions run high. I've worked in multiple high schools. I've assisted, but never been the head coach of a traditional sports team. I'm glad to hear that there is a league out there somewhere that things like that never happen. I'm also glad there are people out there that think they are fit to judge what someone says during an emotional time. When passion for the game goes away, so does the game. That's my opinion. Look up Coach Derek Jenks in Florida or just do searches for coaches cussing players. He is still coaching by the way. The only time it becomes an issue is when cameras are on and everyone has to turn to being PC. This isn't intended to be a knock at you saying you have never witnessed this, but I'm legitimately in awe unless you were to tell me you played at a private school.

I’m thinking something more along the lines of selective memory.
