Wait... Jimmy Hyams won an AP award for "breaking" the Lane Kiffin story?

I heard the first mention of Kiffin being the coach, more than people throwing a name and hoping it would stick, from Groves.

That was a solid week before the Kentucky game.

That's just wrong, Justin deserves that, I distinctly remember him talking about it a long time before douchebag Hyams. In fact, wasn't Hyams still talking about Davis a week after Lane was hired?

I remember Jimmy telling a caller that Leach had a better chance of being our next coach than Kiffin... Spot on Hyams, spot on.

Not being in Knoxville, I find it remarkably easy to ignore this guy. If not for VN threads I wouldn't even know he existed. Y'all should consider how easy it is not to think about the man.

Just a thought...

Could we give Justin the VolNation award for breaking the story and include how far in advance of the AP award that occurred?

The AP is really for fans who don't mind waiting for Hyams or others to confirm weeks/months after something happens. The VN award could be for truly breaking news. Since this would be a first, maybe we could just call it the Justin Groves Award for the breaking the most important Vols news of the year.

Hymens just reported he has a big scoop on CLK. He said he is house hunting, and expects his family to join him soon in Knoxville.

By he I meant Groves, not Jimmy "Janet Reno" Hyams, of course...

My bad. I should have read the thread. I thought we were still talking about Jimmmay. I do not remember who was first. Justin is money; I take him to the bank. SpringBok was new and I was skeptical, but he was dead on with the Kiffin call and earned my respect.

Don't you guys remember the UT plane in North Carolina thread? Groves was first, then I think myself and a few other quality posters were all over it after.
