Waggner hasn't really played all that well...his picks have came against sub par teams

Idiot has not seen Peterson. Ridiculous
sure but if you watch him actually play hes nothing great as corner. if WVU had a QB and NC wasnt playing third team scout team players, he gets lit up.
hes the only reason they won those games cuz he can return kicks.
i know what the articles say but in reality he is a kick returner playing CB.
if sims can actually get him the ball, i think jones can make him look average to bad.

i agree with the original question tho. peterson isnt that great of a CB

Waggner is our worst player on the defense - first I've seen this thread - so that's why. Maybe the worst starter period - but right now James Stone(understandable) and Gooch give him a run for his money.

Can anybody explain all the love that Peterson is getting on a national level and at the same time explain why Prentiss Waggner isn't getting any at all?

Peterson has two interceptions. Waggner also has two.

Peterson has returned those interceptions for 46 yards. Waggner has returned his for 63 yards (that's good for second in the SEC)

Peterson has 0 TD off of interceptions. Waggner has two.

Edit: Waggner has 4 PBU, 23 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. Peterson has 2 PBU, 11 tackles and a blocked kick.

I realize that Peterson is dynamic in the return game and that Waggner is not at all involved. But people are talking about Peterson like he is a shut down corner when Waggner has better stats in all of those categories. I'm not sure about tackles or passes defended as I couldn't find a site that had those listed.

Janoris Jenkins is better than them both.

Your reasoning for that crazy statement is what?

PP - 11 total tackles, 9 solo 2 assisted, .5 tackle for a 1-yard loss, no sacks

JJ - 13 total tackles, 12 solo 1 assisted, 2 tackles for 10 yards in losses, 1 sack for 6-yard loss

PP's a better athlete, JJ's the better corner.

lol you think that the fact that teams throw away from Peterson has nothing to do with those stats? Come on.

That's a really ignorant statement.

Jenkins is clearly better than Waggner - because he's not good. But can't even touch Peterson. Jenkins may not even be the best in his own secondary.

Please, who's better than JJ in the Florida secondary?

And my statements so ignorant, that a few scouts agree with me.
