Voting 3rd Party

Trump doesn't need the wasted votes cast by a bunch of Whiners and Losers for third party candidates in order to beat the Hag.

Trump will win and it will not be close, so continue to tell us how wonderful and principled and pure and smart you are.

You Trumpettes are very much like the Obamabots of 2008. Petty, arrogant, even vindictive if someone dares not express full-throated support of your Chosen One.

It's sad that politics has devolved into rank hero worship.

Obama won in 2008. Trump will win in 2016. Deal with it.

What about "Independant" is confusing?

I seriously dislike the socialist, big government leanings of Democrats and Greens.

I seriously dislike the inability of the Republicans or Libertarians (any party) to tackle environmental polution. I don't give a damn about Climate Change or the degree to which humans are responsible, Environmental Pollution is the bigger problem and it completely dwarfs and encompasses climate change.

So, no party actually. As I said, I will have decided which party I will vote for by election time. I choose the political platform more than the candidate, unless I view the candidate with abject disdain, as I do the D/R frontrunners.

cool story

I know plenty of highly educated and professional folks who supported Trump. That argument doesn't fly with me.

Do they also support his trade protectionist policies like tariffs? If they do, then their educations are lacking.

The similarities don't end there. Both have campaigned around a few key issues and left the rest of their agenda vague enough to allow voters to project their own desires onto his eventual agenda.

Really? Environmental pollution is your #1 concern?

No, the environment is adequate to stand as one example of pretty much all parties' platform insufficiencies. I used it as an example. I choose not to go into a longer discussion of my political position.

And I take it by stating as a question that environment was my #1 concern, you're just fishing.

It was a legitimate question from your post. And if it is so be it.

Oh, it's ALWAYS been that way. Started with the hero George Washington.

The socialist leanings of the Greens and current Dems was the first thing I listed .. hmmm.. but neither does that mean it's my number one issue, and again ... I choose not to get into my personal politics any further, thankyou.

What? After commenting, and using personal politics, to explain why anyone can vote anyway they wish to include 3rd party or nth party, I have to continue with personal beliefs, merely because the thread is in the "Politiks Forum"?

Nah ... you can't mean it.

Was just having a little fun with you. You should stick around, though. :hi:

You seem to operate under the assumption that your vote for a major party candidate is significant. In most states, a single presidential vote is almost totally insignificant.

It's just a gesture of support. If you stay home instead of voting R, the election results will not be changed. If I stay home instead of voting 3rd party, the election results will not change. My hope is that 3rd party options gain steam for future elections. That's why I cast 3rd party.

2000 Florida disagrees...
