His only shot at redemption is to win the SEC.

My bet is 25% of our fan base is done with him and many of that # never gave him a shot. The rest of us are still waiting and hoping he can do it.

Nobody at this point can say, "I know he is the guy, just give him enough time".

The win over a bad Florida team is big, but the loss to SC put him back to square 1.

Win the SEC and we can blame SC for us not making the playoffs.

With some help around the country we can still get in.

Go Vols!

The SC loss was bad because everybody expected to roll over SC. Muschamp decided to switch things around, and SC is 3-0 since. Maybe it would be wise to see how SC does before deciding we lost to a really really bad team.

Hitting a moving target is a bit different from a static one. Maybe we were simply unlucky and got a new and improved SC, and teams earlier in the season were fortunate to play the old SC. We'll just have to see, but I'm definitely an SC fan when they play FL.

Not many, but from the results of the poll so far I would say 75% are giddy with 9-3

No, it says some may be, but a lot aren't interested in another hiring/firing free fall until the right guy comes along.

I think some people here would base everything on a coach's first game; if they got their way, we might be the first team to have 5 or more HCs and no recruits in one season.

I'm with sticking with him, Debord needs to go and we need to rethink this offense. I think he made the right call in Shoop as our D has played well even with all the injuries.

I don't think there's anyone we can bring in that's ever going to top Saban on a consistent basis, so my expectations for a coach currently sit at just winning the east. I think Butch has done a decent job here so far and while I'm upset with the SC loss, I don't see any reason to fire him after I expected 10-2 coming in to the season, and we're on track to finish 9-3 despite the injuries.

Would like to see some kind of change made to improve the o-line during the off-season. I don't hate DeBord as much as others do but wouldn't mind a change at OC.

Butch now has an approval rating of 69.51%

Higher than the last 3 idiots in the white house, and probably better than either of the twits who declare victory today.

Things do usually look a little more sensible to rational people.

One thing that so many fans tend to forget is that AL has been winning and that attracts talent at recruiting time. AL is also viewed as being at the top of the heap in the football world, moves mountains, makes mere mortals NFL eligible, etc; and that's hard for anybody to compete with, and Saban fits in very well. For any fan base using Saban/AL as a measuring stick there's going to be a lot of anguish - just a current fact of life.

Bobby Dodd at GA Tech had to live with Bryant/AL, and he viewed the AL "advantage" in recruiting as cheating. I doubt that the boosters are much different today, so AL probably still has that advantage going for it, but I wish Dodd had continued to fight AL rather than withdrawing from the SEC. One primary AL recruiting philosophy has always been that any player you recruit is a player denied to other teams; recruiting limitations did dent that strategy, so AL now just concentrates on 5 star talent, and their depth with talent denied others is still how they win.

SC gets credit for winning. We played another bad game. -3 on turnovers we should lose every time. If that was our only issue we still could have beat both SC and A&M. We are running deep and wide when it comes to mistakes. It was nice to play a complete game, even if it was against TTech.

There is no telling what will happen between SC and Fl. These are two bad teams playing, Florida postponed their downward spiral by trying to chicken out of playing LSU, Ar got it started. SC has their eyes on making a bowl, too bad I hope you lose out and never win another game.

Plan D.

Read the poll again! Is CBJ the guy? Yes or No. 70% say yes!
So maybe not 75% but 70% are giddy with 9-3.
It don't ask if he is the man until someone better comes along or until his contract runs out!
I don't think anyone is wanting to fire a coach after 1 game, but 45 games is a pretty good sample size to get an idea of what is Instore for the future

Your poll is an exercise in anxiety, OP. Barring criminal activity or some unfathomable breach of ethics, CBJ is going to be the coach through the 2017 season. It's likely he'll still be the Vols HC at the outset of the 2018 season. Unless the program suffers a cataclysmic set back somewhere along the way to 2020, the new AD's focus isn't likely to be on hiring CBJ's replacement and paying out his contract. There's a bunch going on at the University and within the department that should occupy the AD's attention from the outset.

The two options are ridiculous. I've seen enough that he should be the head coach next season.

Read the poll again. Two options A or B. I can vote one because I absolutely disagree with the other while not fully agreeing with the one I did choose. People have been stacking the deck and creating false results with polls since the first one.

Now if somebody asked an open question, you could answer honestly - given a narrow list of options, you simply choose the one most fitting. So answering the first question can absolutely mean I chose that one with an implied "for the time being" or "as things stand now (AD uncertainty)" etc.

Business uses the tactic all the time - do you prefer A, B, C, or D without ever giving people the option of none of the above.

Possibly, but that's why taking this poll after Tenn tech was a good idea I think. Most of us can't get too high or too low after a game like that. Maybe we make better judgements after a ho hum win.

Read the poll again simple yes or no!

You inserting "implications " because you didn't agree with a yes or no , on your own to go along with your own opinion is on you, the poll was what it was, yes or no!

If yes or no didn't reflect your position you should of not voted, but don't try to insert your on opinion of what the poll supposedly ment!

Guess you missed instructions on multiple choice questions. Rule out the wrong ones and pick the best fit.
