I think it brings up a very valid point. If that policy did go into place three months before Johnson and Williams, then there is no reason why they are allowed to go back to school and Pearson can't.

The UT admin is seriously looking at a bad situation with this, it'd be easier to reinstate Pearson and deal with any supposed backlash from the public, which really there shouldn't be since the Admins/Team were quick to suspend him.

Or they can continue to try and keep him out of school and then most likely have a lawsuit on their hands that I could see them losing if that were to happen.

Exactly. School judicial board could still find probable cause and enforce the suspension from school. He will need to go before the judicial board prior to reinstatement which means he likely still won't be back for a month or so, if at all.

If the DA found insufficient evidence to charge him, & UT still upheld the suspension, that sounds like a lawsuit to me.

I guess the University is not going to uphold the suspension for no reason and get sued by VP

Let that be a lesson to all young males, especially those in college: this (wildly exaggerated and toxically political) "rape culture" hysteria has produced an environment wherein a man damn sure better be careful when dealing with the opposite sex.
