Von Pearson WILL NOT be charged

UT and the UTAD are NOT going to rush this any at all...
You can make DANG certain that Butch and Azzanni WILL know beyond a shadow that VP is on the right path and this, or anything like this, will NEVER be an issue again.

Also, he has up until Aug 18th to enroll in classes and to be eligible for the NCAA too.
Still, I would expect a decision by the end of this week of practice.

On a side note - what's teh latest on AJ Johnson...can he get Coffey to be his lawyer...???

Here's my question. If he is reinstated will he be able to play this season after not passing the spring semester?

A shame a man has been given his life back and people on here are poo pooing excitement because he still may not get on the football field. Sickos.

Getting the opportunity to get back with the team, which gives him a much greater opportunity to pursue a career in the NFL is a huge part of this kid's life. It's likely the greatest opportunity he has to change the financial fortunes of his family based on what we know of his life's background and circumstances.

If somehow he is not allowed back into the university and on the team after being exonerated by the professional investigators in the DA's office, he will have been dealt a great injustice in my and many others' opinions.

A quick change of pace on this. Supposing VP is reinstated, I bet he totally balls out this year for a couple of reasons. A :because he has new life as a football player and B: because he will want to make pro scouts forget about this and a huge year would do it.
Hopefully, he gets back on the team and goes completely the .... Off

Sue them for what?

To have him reinstated, and for damages if they dont! Duh!

The fact that UT has stated they are holding Von to a higher standard than KPD and the DA's office
is a travesty. Ever heard the saying "Nobody is above the law?" Well apparently UT thinks they are.

@GrantRamey: I'm told that Von Pearson does have a fall class schedule. Just a matter of getting cleared so he can attend those classes.

This doesn't mean anything. He can't "have a fall class schedule" if he's not a student of the University. It's physically impossible.

The Thornton center for student athletes may have looked at possible classes for him in the scenario that he was reinstated, but otherwise that's a very misleading tweet. Not a student = no way to get a class schedule.

Don't disagree. Just passing along information from what is historically a reliable source.

Typical. Still holding the suspicion of guilt over his head after he's been cleared. Unbelievable.

Not sure what "cleared" really means. The D.A. Has just determined that there's not enough to go forward with criminal charges.

There still could be an issue with University rules somewhere. Hopefully not, but Nobody really knows.

Nobody really knows but yet you have been consistent in the assumption he's guilty. Even after he doesn't get charged you want to pump the breaks.

Why? The DA can prosecute anything they want to these days. With, or without evidence.
Apparently there is no evidence. If he's not reinstated in 48 hours then we have a serious problem
within the administration.

@wesrucker247: Considering there are no criminal charges from an off-campus allegation, you’d think Von Pearson would be fine. But sometimes I’m dumb.

Not what I posted.

Just pointing out that legal issues are different from school rules and that could be what's holding things up. I've never pretended to know either way.

Well, I am glad this has come about, it tells me that no one was actually hurt (victim and whatnot) and also VP more than likely will return, all is well.

Von is likely to be reinstated within 24-48 hours. As I said all along it would when fall camp started and I also said that he wouldnt be found guilty.

... I simply think the University is going to do it's due dillgence in evaluating the case file and deciding whether or not Von deserves to be reinstated. That will take a little time. ... just because Von has been cleared of any illegal behavior doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't conduct unbecoming ...
... the Univ will be gathering/reviewing information over the "next couple of days"...

These statements are what have me scratching my head. Not because they are being made by VN, but; for the fact that it doesn't make sense in my mind. VP either did or didn't break/violate school rules or conduct codes. This supposedly occurred back when the initial accusations were made. Did UT just sit on their duff and figure "screw it", we'll wait for KPD and the DA to make up their minds, if they move on with charges we're done and good and then they hear "no charges will be brought forth" and they are like, "What?, damn we better not screw this up, let's take our time since we didn't use the time we already had available to do this? I guess what I'm trying to get across is: he was suspended for possible rape (no charges) so reinstate him for that and he was also suspended for violation of UT/team rules (which were known then if that's the case)
then it should have been resolved by now. JMO
