Vols!

A mechanic does one thing, so the analogy doesnt work. The more appropriate analogy would be a shop manager. The manager has improved the shop performance, brought in better parts for cars etc. He just hasnt been able to but it together yet. However, your due to the investment in him, you give him a little more time to see if he can work it out. But you lack confidence that he will. You may provide more oversite or something during that time.

Also keep in mind, the opinion comes from a person that has absolutely no say in the process.

Your concern is for the shop. Your concern should be for the car.

But still doesn't explain why you want to keep a coach that you don't think will ever win us a NC.

Totally the opposite with you. Never have anything to say, but always saying something.

Watch out. He will tell you to put him on ignore. He's up to about 10 now. Some how he sees it as a victory to tell another poster to put him on ignore.

Gotta wait for him to clean up the broken light bulbs before he can respond.

I fully expect someone to bring up his record at Cincinnati and CMU, and try to explain how it should be factored into his stats at UT because of Derek Dooley and reasons. :)

His record anywhere other than UT matters little to none in this discussion.

But to compare the level of competition in the SEC then and now would matter greatly in comparing records.

Considering the state of the SECe during CBJ's tenure, I'd say he actually had the easier path.

Ok

Here, let me try this approach. I dont think CBJ is a very good football coach. However, he doesnt have to be if he hires good assistants and allows them to run things. Maybe he will do that. Maybe he will also quote trying to control every narrative around.

But to me, i think he is a control freak that wont allow coaches to coach and for him to just be a manager.

He has proven to be a good recruiter and hold the line on off the field discipline issues, which i like.

But his inability to manage a game is well documented. He is average. Know the question is can he surround himself with people that will make him look great? So far the answer is no, but based on previous accomplishments, he deserves more time to prove it.

As to your analogies of his capabilities, i wouldnt have hired him in the first place.

Back then we trusted fulmer to have a double digit win total. The same cant be said for Jones

This is not then and you see what happened to our team on later years. We will continue to improve and will likely see double digit wins in the near future. This is likely to happen wether you like it or not. When it does, I doubt we will see you posting very much. That will be something positive.

Whatever makes you feel better bud. What is your estimated time to see those double digit wins?

Within the next two years. I know, it will break your heart.

So your expectation of Tennessee football is that a coach can go up to 7 years without a ten win season before feeling any pressure? Interesting, i thought youd have higher expectations than that.

And no, what breaks my heart is seeing tons of talent not reaching its potential due to poor coaching

I agree. He has yet to win a NC.

I think he can win them at UT.

Do you think he can?
