westwords Rarely will you see (maybe never) a basketball team with greater grit and more determination than Tennessee demonstrated Saturday at Food City Center. The second half was truly remarkable. Preach on Mr. West! Great article; great win!

westwords Full story here! Read it yall it's so dang sweet! -- "Neither team shot well in the first half but Tennessee led at intermission, 24-21. The Vols won the second half by 17. They finished with a giant inside advantage, 34-14 points in the paint. The Gators looked like they wanted to go home. The Vols looked like they could play a double-header."

My wife doesn't like basketball,so I don't get to watch it live, but I tape all of the games. My wife sleeps late and I'm an early riser, so I watch the game before she gets up.

I saw a team that was inspired to win. I think this game may have awakened their inner dog. When your down as many players as Tennessee was, you got to find that dog. Anybody who has ever played any kind of sport can confirm that that dog is in you, just got to wake him up.

Great game guys. Carry that fight forward.

How did you not awaken the Mrs on the Mashack steal / Phillips dunk play?

Wow, got to give a shout out to all the Vol players who defeated Florida. This was one of the most outstanding defensive basketball games I have witnessed in my 78 years of life. Your efforts were simply unbelievable. I am sure you all were totally exhausted after this outstanding display of effort. Thanks for such a great game.

Barnes sort of thought he saw it coming during and after Friday practice, when the team gathered in a circle.

“Jahmai Mashack looked at everyone and said, ‘Hey, we got enough right here. We got enough to get done what we need to get done if we’ll stick together, carry out the game plan, do what we’re talking about here
.’” Thanks Marvin for giving us the rest of the story and more! Nice read on a Sunday evening following a great win!

Great game, more great writing from Mr. Marvin West. Go to church with a young fellow & Gator fan who was taunting us Vol fans about UT's poor shooting in Gainesville 2 weeks ago. Yesterday morning I greeted him by merely cupping my hand to my ear & said: "CLANK". He got the messsage with a sheepish smile. Felt good. Hallelujah!

They got Barnzed! The players executed the game plan perfectly, especially on defense. 7 players available and the center gets 2 quick fouls? Who wins like that??
Yeah, watching the recording I heard the announcer say that was 2 fouls on Okpara, I thought with a shorter bench than it was, that would sink us, but to his credit, he stayed out of foul trouble for the rest of the game. That was big.
