Vols will need to score at least __ points to beat LSU?

This is completely anecdotal but I feel like when the offense is struggling (which it did a bit @Pitt) the D makes plays. Perhaps it’s the sense of urgency knowing they have to step up? Don’t know but I do believe that, if needed, they will step up.

This will be a close game. I think we can win but will need to be a complete game in all three phases.

I didn't find many posts mentioning that this game is an away game. Pitt was away, it went to OT. If UF was away, who thinks it might have been even tougher to hold on for a win? Who thinks Auburn would have put up the same fight at Death Valley last week?

Away from home, simply cannot have a fumble after a great call, catch & run as we did early in the FL game. Same for any drive stopping penalty. We can score a bunch, if we win the turnover and penalty stats.

LSU will score and the odds of our D making their QB or Boutte finally look good are in LSU's favor. Hope not, but it's our history until proven otherwise.

We need to score upper 30's at least, if not 41 to win a close one. It's our way, but a win is a win and worthy of a Victory Beer.

30. They don't have a playmaker like Richardson at QB, so even as bad as our secondary is, I don't see them lighting us up as bad as Florida did.

That boy can make things happen with his feet like AR15 tho. Throwing not so much.

I think 34 gets it dun. And that's not chopped liver. LSU has issues galore, but athletes all over the field aint one of them.

Same. The pass defense is suspect. Combine that with Heupel's quick offense where the defense gets minimal rest and we'll need to score 40+ points probably against any semi decent SEC team we face.

Either we score fast or we punt fast but the defense will be on the field a lot. Average time of possession we are #123 in the nation.

Well, at least we're finally beating Georgia State at something.

I like watching the Vols score. I think it’s awesome how we keep having plays called and celebrated as TDs over turned just to get the TD the next play. Double score. Double celebration.

7 scores is the number that feels right. 4 need to be TD the other 3 can be FGs or safeties. Running a blocked extra point back for 2 works too.
So far, Ive been pleased with the offenses ability to face adversity and still score this year. Too many times in years past has there been a holding, false start, negative play, etc. and it stalls the drive leading to 3 or nothing at all.

I don’t believe LSU will score more than 28 even if our defense struggles. 35-38 is comfortable, and doable.

Yes to all you said. LSU's D is good. Its their O line that is a weakness. Our O will struggle some so our D has to step up. As our D is currently last in the SEC in pass defense it does not take much FB knowledge to know they are coming out passing so I think blitzing the QB is going to have to be successful. They cannot leave our secondary hanging to make plays. Scoring in the 30's is a must.
