VOLs vs NIU TV?

Pardon me for being a n00b to this but how does ESPN360 work? Do they just have a player that shows games? Is it their own player or WMP?

I am usually at most of the games but this will be the first one I miss this year and would like to at least watch it (for free if at all possible).

In 2005 and 2006 I watched the games online via ESPN Gameplan (using the online subscription option). In 2007 ESPN moved all the content to ESPN360 where you can watch the games for free, the catch is that ESPN360 provides that content only if your broadband provider has paid ESPN for the rights, and you can't purchase it yourself. I don't think Comcast or Time Warner offer it, but if you connect via Verizon your in luck.

Here are the recommended system requirements

PC
Processor Speed: 1.5 Ghz
Memory: 512 MB of RAM
Operating System:Windows XP
Browsers: Internet Explorer 6+ and Mozilla Firefox 2.0+
Plugins: Adobe Flash Player 8+
Screen Resolution: 1024x768 or higher with 32-bit color
Connection Speed: 768 Kbps

Mac
Processor Speed: 1.5 Ghz
Memory: 512 MB of RAM
Operating System:OSX
Browsers: Mozilla Firefox 2.0+, Safari 2.0
Plugins: Adobe Flash Player 8+
Screen Resolution: 1024x768 or higher with 32-bit color
Connection Speed: 768 Kbps

Actually I should thank ESPN for cutting me off the online viewing, since it prompted me to go HD and subscribe to Gameplan via cable.

Those wishing to watch the game on 360.com can forget about it. I was trying to watch the UAB game on it the other week and it was totally blacked out. So don't plan on it being any different this week! I am just going to go to the game why pay 30 bucks to watch on ppv when you can watch it for free in person!

Driving 10 hours is not free. The $30 is MUCH cheaper. If I lived in Knoxville, I would probably go. Was it only blacked out in Knoxville or what?

I don't know if it will be available for the UT/NIU game but alot of times you can find things on channelsurfing.net. Its not great but its better than nothing. For a game like that the stream may hold up pretty well. On some of the more popular matchups it used to have to buffer too much for me.

If there is no streaming video, is there streaming audio available?
