Once you get past the initial "Holy Sh!t, look at all this. Where do I begin!?", the program becomes a blast to use. It's just a suggestion and may be overkill for just making gifs.

I decided to give After Effects a try. Wow. It's learning curve is steeper than any graphics/animation/video editing program I've used. Gonna take a lot more tutorials before I get the hang of it. I made this Cuonzo gif with it, but it took a ton of trial and error.
