Vols up two spots in USA TODAY NCAA re-rank poll following Ole Miss game

I can see with my own eyes that we are better than that #47 ranking. Looking forward to a steady climb this year.
Anybody that actually watches football should see that this team is getting better. Even with a depleted roster, they're playing hard.

I know I will catch heat for this or be accused of wearing orange tinted glasses, but looking at the poll, if our roster is healthy there is not 1 team outside of the top 10 that I would chalk up as an automatic loss. Throw in Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State from the top 10 as well . We are better than Pitt and we should’ve beaten Ole Miss, apparently Florida peaked vs us, but I don’t see many teams that we wouldn’t/couldn’t beat or have a very competitive game against .

Depth is Tennessee's biggest issue right now. The drop from the 1s to the 2s is pretty significant at some key positions. But it's hard not to be impressed with what CJH has done with what he has. 2 of our 3 loses could easily have gone the other way.
You're right, I feel if Evans and Mays had of been in there vs Mississippi; we win.

The ONLY way to fix the depth issue rapidly is by hitting the transfer market HARD in '22! Freshman typcially aren't going to be able to fill holes and produce until year 2/3, especially when we are getting marginal SEC players this go 'round. Next year is a HUGE year for Heupel's recruiting, IMO.

We are 100% winning that thing if Tyon Evans and Cade play. Don't think people have brought that up enough.

Jabari played okay and still had 92 yards.

I was surprised we played that close without Evans! As soon as I heard he wasn't gonna play I did not like our chances.

I agree about Evans. He's a hot spark plug for the offense and he and JS are a great one two punch.

The only things standing in the way of a great year are 1) injuries, 2) mistakes, 3) bad officiating, and 4) SEC/NCAA sanctions. Keep up the fight men. Thank you Vols for giving your all to Tennessee. Much appreciated.

I’m looking at Union Home Mortgage bowl 23rd Dec in Tampa against America or ACC conference team. That would be sweet!

I don't consider myself a homer, but we should be undefeated right now. If Hooker started from day 1, we beat Pitt, FL, and Ol Miss. That's hindsight and I won't abuse the coaches about the decision to start Milton. They had their reasons. But I have no doubt in my mind that we should be undefeated. Are we a top 10 team? no. Could we beat anybody short of the top 10. Absolutely.

I think you have a valid point. If our team was healthy and we had a full 85, I believe we would be undefeated as well.
