Who else has the smokey mountains on their helmets??? As far as trendy goes, many college football teams have alternative unis not in the "traditional" form which was pretty much started by Oregon. I feel an age gap between this discussion

Like you, I think the Smoky Mountain backdrop behind our orange Power T is a beautiful thing. But even as dear and as important as those mountains are to us, the color orange is even more so and our love for it precedes our coming to East Tennessee (See the Scots/Irish). Orange...the only color that matters.

Love whats returning, but I love the Smokey Greys also. They just look good. The players seemed to love them also. That being said, if CJP coaches like he recruits and starts winning championships, I don't give a sh%$.

Bottom line is the uniforms were simply grey just like every other Nike school.

I like the grays, hell I liked the Adidas ones which I know many didn’t, but I’m not sad to see them go. Players may of liked them but any legit player isn’t picking us because of them.

I think he has a point KB. I mean, the decision to use the gray unis in the first place proved we had the wrong AD and coach.

I have been disgusted by all of the gimmicks the past three HC losers handed out while Tennessee attached its name to the most dubious records you would NEVER want your team to be associated with.

The simple fact that Tennessee was wearing those gimmick grays, while suffering the worst lose in history at Neyland, should be enough to NEVER use them again!

So, FO to all of the sheep that enjoyed the past gimmicks while the program went down the toilet.

Yes but I’m not sure it’s as effective with recruiting as some may think. Oregon has been the leader in uniform marketing, however, they currently are ranked around 14 for 2018. Great athletes want to play for winning programs.

Personally, I don't think the color of unies had one dam- thing to do with winning any of things. Playing better than the other team did the trick.
