let's see; I only had to go back 3 years ago to find a year in which the American was way better than the SEC.

Teams in tourney:

AAC (4): Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Memphis

SEC (3): Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee

National Champion: Connecticut

And Uconn won in the championship game over guess who.

I could find many years like this.

You must be in sales because if you think you can sell that the conferences that Memphis State has been a part of over their history compare with the SEC in any sport, you can sell anything.

No selling to it. I just did it in post with FACTS. SEC has been riding KY's coattails for 70 years. Only major conference that is a one horse league.

UK has 3 titles in the past 40 years. Florida has 2. Arkansas has 1. Hardly "riding Kentucky's coattails."

Remind me again why you care so much.

I don't care. You are the one saying Memphis played in conferences "akin to the Island of Misfits in that kid's Christmas movie."

So I'm pointing out SEC is at best 5th best league, more likely 6th when Big East is considered as they would have curb stomped SEC in league matchups as they have now.

If you are trying to say KY is not a top 5 all time team and has not carried SEC, you are full of it and you know it.

Well, the assertions being quantified was why I hoped they would do a survey. It was just something I had heard years ago from my Dad's west Tennessee business associates. And God only knows what led them to that opinion.

But that distance arguments seems silly too. Tennessee's main two QB candidates come from Texas and New Jersey. If you check the rosters of all Tennessee sports, we bring in athletes from across the nation, and a fair number from other countries.

The only logical explanation for not being able to recruit Memphis is they just aren't trying hard enough. However, I agree program success turns recruits eyes, even in Memphis.

And seriously, do you even read? Nothing I said remotely suggested that UK wasn't a top 5 all-time team. This thread is riddled with your poor logic and weak arguments, and your above statement is just another example.

This thread is riddled with poor logic and outright lies by TN posters. You ask them to give you facts to back up 7 S16s-nada.

Plus, they keep coming back with 14-11 head to head. Many of this victories were achieved during Finch's health problems years and before Cal got his program in place. But I will give TN credit for beating better teams in most other wins.

Just one example.

2. You say the H2H record doesn't matter, yet you feel the need to justify why Tennessee has the lead H2H by using Fitch illness as an excuse.

$$$$$. Ole Miss and TN push us from around 45 K to 63K with an extra $25 per ticket on all seats-do the math.Our BB program is not bringing in $20M a year anymore so the AD needs the cash. And, we would be competitive if not pull off a win at our place this year-ask Hugh Freeze's best team.

I know a LOT of former Tiger BB players-that's what they told me. I posted that in this thread-said it was on them if they couldn't get up for in state game. READING COMPREHENSION. Most fans feel that we must have a FB series even if it is two BB home and homes to one football H&H.

Why do you keep posting-have to get the last word in kinda of guy?

I know probably more ex-UM basketball players than UT ones...EVERY ONE of them are NOT obsessive about the Vols AT ALL...In fact most would claim to pull for the Vols (and Vandy as well)...Their issues are with Louisville, Ole Miss, and Cincinnati these days....

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Maymon having knee issues even in his freshman year? Even if anyone thinks Maymon was a better player than Pearl, managing ailments effects who gets playing time. And it might hurt performance as well.

OM is a non issue in BB. We can usually beat them up or not. No one cares-attendance in BB gets a small bump.
