Vols to open season agasint VCU at US Naval Acadamy

VCU should be interesting, especially with no established pg. New coach and new team going against Smart and his uptempo system that he has been running awhile.
I look forward to it.

Actually, this is the very reason why you would want to play a good team at the beginning of the year. That team is adjusting, too and has to guess at what our team looks like. It gives you an opportunity to surprise. I would rather it be neutral court than on the road.

Kind of like some of the neutral early football games. Even great teams are usually better at the end of the year, and they even have to work out the kinks in the beginning.

I refuse to make it worth your "whole".

Not emotional at all. I can't imagine how anyone that has any clue about basketball would still be discussing anything Zo related to UT. Better to forget. And yes, your post is very much referring to those that criticized Zo and wondering if they will criticize Tyndall.

As far as I'm concerned, last year's schedule wasn't tough enough. With a senior laden team (really with any team that has a chance to be successful but especially with seniors) you should be testing them and preparing them all year.

I think opening up against tough teams is great. Playing neutral site games against good competition is a must. Hardly any downside.

I hope you do realize that team went to the S16? I couldn't give a squat who they played during the year.

I'll tell you what...you draw up a plan for our team that has us playing Iowa, UMass and Mercer every year to go to the Sweet 16 and I'll take it right now. If you can plan that to happen every year, I won't care what our non conference schedule looks like.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's a viable solution so I think we'll still have to schedule well, recruit well and coach em up on occasion.

Screw that elite 8 run, chips fell perfectly for that team.

They did. That's why you keep going back each year because stuff like that happens.

You can continue on your diatribe to defend all things Zo. I don't know if you do it because you felt you had a kinship with some of the recruits and traded texts with them or what. Zo has proven to be less than mediocre in coaching, recruiting and the overall running of a program.

That traded texts thing was bull****. He got himself caught up in something and couldn't get out, so he dug deeper in a hole. It was an attempt to be big-time and try to get his point across by creating the whole fairy tale of texts and comments.

Your constant defense and explanations during that deal told me all I needed to know. Basic defensive psychology.

And you just happened to text them all one time during your agenda race, which brought about your own thoughts and words, and never texted them prior or after again.
How convenient.

Like I said, if your so confident put up some money, I will gladly exchange a few emails with you showing you the evidence, and then collect my winnings.

You can ask CAVOL who you have talked to off this board, he can tell you 100% I've talked with them prior and since, so whadya say friend?

If someone's gonna call me out and attempt to insult me am I not allowed to respond, why don't you question them as to their method of attacking me?

I make a simple post with no mention of Zo, and simply because the poster disagrees wants to go on a rant of personal attacks and multiple variations of the "Martinite" name calling method.

Zo to basketball is = to Dooley to Football in the eyes of most fans.

NOBODY liked him. He didn't like UT. Bring up his name and you will get ripped by someone. Plain and simple. There are much better things going on to discuss in UT BB than Zo. Just some advice. Take it or leave it.

Which is why I didn't even mention his name and haven't, but like Pearl some people just can't go 5 minutes without a mention.

Not bringing you into the argument, it's a very simple question, and you know the answer. I figured Sparty knows you and you know me, pretty easy solution to this.

I'll say this and then I'm bowing out. You have told me things weeks in advance that happened exactly like you said they would happen. Whether people want to believe it or not is their decision. I take everything that's not officially reported that I'm told with a grain of salt because things change very quickly in college basketball.

That works for me, either I'm Nostradamus or obviously have a source, fair enough.

And you continue to prove why you're a less than mediocre poster

Maybe so. But I would venture a guess I know more about the game of basketball than you and this is a basketball board, right? I don't need to validation to claim I have sources. But I do think it would be funny to revisit the Trae Golden is leaving thread to see:
1- I had more insight into that situation than you
2- you said "NYC is legit". Appreciate you giving me legitimacy even though I'm less than mediocre.

In any event, you "having a source" means nothing to me as far as your knowledge of basketball. I know people in the military. I damn sure didn't fight in any wars or am brave enough to do so. And I can't tell you what it's like over there in the Middle East because I have people I know that were there. Catch what I'm saying? Let me spell it out. If you thought Zo was a good coach for UT for even a second following the first half of this season, you don't know basketball.

I never proclaimed Zo as the next Bobby Knight, I said I thought he would be good and depending on your definition that's still up for debate. You're tooting Tyndall's horn at every turn, if in 3 years we haven't made the NCAAT 1 time are you gonna jump back on here saying how wrong you were and that ultimately means you're clueless about basketball?

Sparty who likes to pass himself off as the most educated and proven coach expert of all of VN, was a massive Dooley supporter through the first 2 years, we all know how that ended up, so what's your opinion of him?

Catch what I'm saying?

What a clown. I listened to others to learn the game and still learn. That's one of the differences between you and me. Meyer, Byrd, and others are ones I learned from. You learn from kenpom.
As for your misinformed Dooley bull****, I support UT coaches until I can't do it anymore. Been doing that since you were in diapers, which is anywhere from 3-20 years ago. I did it for Martin for 2.5 years and did for Dooley until the 2nd half of the Fla game.

There are your facts. Now have fun twisting them again. Everybody sees thru your Bs. The sooner you figure that out, the better off you will be.

If any one thinks this they know absolutely nothing about basketball. Too bad many of our "fans" fall into this category.

The question is, why are you befriending and talking to 17-18 year old kids that you don't even know and trying to be buddy-buddy with them? Don't you find that slightly odd and a tad creepy?

So you supporting Dooley for 2.5 years makes you a Vol fan, yet I support Martin for 3 years and I'm an uneducated Martinite that doesn't know anything about the game of basketball, and is blindly supporting the coach simply because he's black?

Makes sense.

This has been addressed time and time again, the answers around if you truly wanna know, but I doubt that's the case.
