I heard those volleyballers have quite a long career and the scenery is awfully nice on the ladies tour.

I think every Vol player should be drafted into the NFL after their Sr. year.

I checked some mocks a few weeks ago and this is what I saw as well.

I think the 2012 draft was the first since the 60s where we only had one player taken if I recall correctly (Malik Jackson).

This makes the job CBJ did look that much more impressive. Kiffin had 6 players drafted off of our last 7-6 team in 2009 IIRC.

johnson will NOT be drafted. He reminds me alot of Herman Lathers. A really good college player that any coach would want on his team but not a pro player.

Johnson hustles BUT is not fast in chasing players down. He catches them because of his angel of pursuit. Also, he can't even cover a tight end in pass coverage.

So, he is a late rounder at best, then add in to the mix his off the field issue = not being drafted or even invited as a free agent.

He will miss the Senior Bowl. He will miss the Shrine Bowl etc. etc. which would have given him a chance to show off his skills to some NFL coaches but he won't even get that chance.

He is a lot better than was Lathers.. Put Johnson in front of a big DT and he is a tackling machine..

Hopefully AJ's legal issues will be resolved before the draft. College players should know by now the NFL is taking personal conduct on and off the field very seriously.
A bad choice may lead to a loss of millions of $$$. That's sad. Hope everything works out for AJ.

Hypothetically, if AJ Johnson is not drafted, have we ever had Zero players drafted?

Unfortunately for AJ, even if he is cleared of all charges, his stock has fallen dramatically. AJ is a far superior player on the field, than he would show at the combine.

In a situation like this, Johnson did nothing wrong. He used poor judgement by getting involved with this woman in the first place.
If I were a college football player and know how SOME young women are these days, I would not go to a party, meet a girl then have casual sex with her. I would have a steady girlfriend and that would elimate the chance of what happened to A.J. or Winston from happening.
Had this not happened to him, he likely would have been a 6th or 7th round selection or at worse a free agent. He would have played special teams for a few years and might have cracked the line up in year two or three.

If he indeed has an "angel of pursuit" on his side, he can run down anybody.

You really just put AJ and Herman Lathers on the same level?

No way Lathers and AJ are even close to the same level.

How many other VFL's in the past did we think were worthy of being drafted but weren't drafted?

Come May, when the draft is held on day # 2 or day # 3 when A.J. is don't be surprised!!

If he were a for sure 1st rounder, then a team may take a chance because the talent was so great that he could be a franchise player. However; not a projected 5th, 6th or 7th rounder with legal issues.

So you know what happened? You were there? You've seen the evidence? You've taken their statements? Please enlighten us.

I wouldn't bother asking that dude any questions. He's just spouting off incorrect things left and right. Lathers=Johnson? LOL

2 questions:
1) Will the Vols have anyone drafted this year &
2) Have we ever had no draft selections?

1. Williams and Coleman have the best shot, though most likely in the later rounds.
2. Not sure. I don't think so but I'm not 100% on that, but if it has happened before, it has been a long time.

And in response to some post on here about Johnson draft level. Prior to the off the field situation Johnson would have been a high pick. Last years draft as a junior he was projected as the 3 overall ILB. He was having a great year again, on the field, and likely would have lead the SEC in tackles....again. So he probably would have gone in the 2nd to 3rd round.

Now factoring in the off the field issues, I believe it will come down to whether he is innocent or guilty.
Guilty - Obviously won't be playing football anymore, at least not for a long time.
Innocent - Probably gets drafted but falls down to the 5th, 6th, or even 7th round.
