Don't forget Rashad Baker. The best that never got a chance to showcase his skills on Rocky Top due to injuries he never recovered from would be O.J. Owens.

THANK YOU! I always remembered that hit but could never find a video.

One of my favorite hits...I have the '98 highlights video "A Big Orange Expedition" and all the highlights of the Vandy game are awesome. We made them look like a middle school team that year! :eek:lol:

I love how L. Little wore an 8th grade sized jersey. I'll go EB, Al Wilson, R. Thompson.....I really can't wait to see how many people JJ can knockout over the next couple of years.

Am I still a Vol "fan" if I've only heard of the Delong's?

I remember Bill Duff having a good hit on Eddie George at the goal line in the Citrus Bowl. Couldn't find it on Youtube.

From a lot of the posts on here it shows the collective age of this board. All the ones mentioned on here are heavy hitters but I think out of all I've seen, the heaviest were Jack Reynolds, Steve Kiner, Reggie White, David Allen, Eric Berry and our D line Coach, Chuck Smith. He would lay the wood to you too.

Two that I havent seen mentioned are Jerod Mayo... and an under appreciated Eddie Moore

I'm pretty sure that it was Eddie Moore than knocked the Florida receiver out in the swamp in 2001. That was one of the nastiest hits that i've seen. I actually was worried about the Florida player.

Who are some of our greatest hitters ever?
Eric Berry, Gibril Wilson, Al Wilson, Raynock Thompson, Leonard Little, Jason Parker, help me remember more.................

pound for pound, Dale Carter was the hardest hitter I ever saw play. They said he was 180-190 but I think he played at UT at 170 or smaller. Had drinks with him on Bourban Street and he was small and skinny.. but would not back off fomr anyone...

I watched them all play, and I believe Frank Emmanuel was the hardest hitter of this group. He had a great career with the Dolphins during their good run.

Who was the Vol that picked that Vandy player up and body slammed him ??....It was a few years back in Nashville when they still had the artificial turf ??..Actually got a unsportsmanlike called on him if memory serves me correctly.....
