Tennessee’s entire team was present and accounted for — something that’s not always the case around bowl season.
The most notable takeaway Sunday was Brandon Kennedy’s presence at practice. Kennedy (knee) began the afternoon on the stationary bike, but once the Vols shifted gears into indy and team work, Kennedy was mostly a full-participant.
Jerome Carvin worked with the right side of the OL, lining up with K’Rojhn Calbert and Darnell Wright.
Starting quarterback Jarrett Guarantano threw the ball well in wet conditions today. Notably, Guarantano is no longer sporting a big brace or cast on his left hand. The redshirt junior just had a normal tape job and a glove.
JT Shrout took reps ahead of Brian Maurer, who was sporting a huge brace on his right leg, but once they QBs went to a QB-center exchange drill (plus RB handoffs and later routes on air), Maurer jumped Shrout in line and took reps after Guarantano.
Jauan Jennings was his usual spirited self, but the Vols are clearly hoping Ramel Keyton, Tyler Byrd or Cedric Tillman step up in Jennings’ absence in the first half Friday.

Jauan Jennings was in typical form during routes-on-air on Sunday. He's suspended for the first half of the bowl game, but you wouldn't know it as he was sharp and made a pretty ridiculous one-handed catch on a slot fade route lob from Jarrett Guarantano. Jennings then challenged the other slots receivers to catch their passes with just one hand, but none of them could, with Tyler Byrd upset he didn't get a chance on a poor throw.
Freshman wideout Ramel Keyton looks likely to be the beneficiary of Jennings's temporary absence. Keyton was pulling some double-duty on Sunday, running routes out of the slot and on the perimeter during routes-on-air work.
Tracy Rocker seemed mostly pleased with some of the work his group was doing and particularly liked reps Aubrey Solomon and Greg Emerson had. In cornerback drills, Pruitt called out freshman Kenney Solomon and said it's like "Groundhog Day" with him not being able to master a drill the Vols always do.
We mentioned freshman tight end Sean Brown not being a participant during bowl practices in Knoxville earlier in the month, and now we know why. Brown was present on Sunday and had his left arm in a sling, so he's dealing with what appears to be a shoulder injury of some kind.

I hope Tyler Byrd can make some catches in open space and go out with a big final game.
Yeah that's what I'm hoping too. According to this report though seems as though Keyton will likely be getting the most action. Byrd is a dang good downfield blocker though.

I stopped by the UNF football field for a few minutes to watch yesterday. The players looked loose, relaxed, and ready to whoop the "Loosiers" @ss. Thursday can't get here soon enough.
