Looking at the article on ESPN.com, I do not believe that Tennessee made the coaches top 25. If that is the case, I wonder if EVERY coach had their head stuck up their @$$ this past 2 weeks when we went 4-0 against Memphis, Oklahoma St., Western Kentucky, and Texas...????

No Friggin RESPECT!:bash:
I don't know what in the blankety blank they have to do to get ranked. Nobody evidently looked at them this past week!

If college basketball polls had any real relevance, I'd be bothered by this. As it is, those rankings are totally meaningless.

I agree for the most part. We should just focus on the next team and play our best. Although the rankings do have some importance come March. But of course, I would love to see us in the top 25 and I do think we deserve it.

Vols just need to do what they did last year. Keep scrapping and winning. The rest will take care of itself. Vols Bball is on the rise.

Agreed. And that's fine with me - the players and coaches will continue to use this as motivation. Going 4-0 against that competition is certainly worth a top-25 ranking. My only guess is that some coaches are not giving them as much credit b/c all those games were in Knoxville or Nashville (i.e. home games).

Remember, Bruce isn't the most popular guy with his peers. I don't think many of them are going to go out of their way to give him credit.

Jealousy..

Other coaches aren't going to vote for Bruce. Who cares about the coaches poll anyway?

Good point. I'd like to see the Vols ranked, because I think they've played well enought to deserve it. But if they continue to play well, then all this stuff will take care of itself anyway. Plus, at the end of the year, isn't RPI, SOS, etc. more important than the polls anyway?

Correct, the polls play absolutely no role.

If they gotta keep carving up the opposition like they have been lately, everything will fall in place. It has to.

Heard CBP on the radio today and he said he might use the snub as a motivational topic. Wouldn't you like to hear that speech?

Good point, and welcome "thagodfather". Hopefully this can be used as motivation before the next polls are released to help avoid a let-down in the next two games against Tenn. Tech & ETSU - two games that should be won at home without a whole lot of trouble, if there isn't a let-down.

#21 in the AP poll, still no respect. I think top 15!!!
jumping from unranked to top 15 is nearly impossible. If the other coaches dont like Pearl which I've heard, beause of his loud mouth attitude that could have played a part in this but either way thats bullcrap.
