A few outlets, reporting vertigo and home sickness, which is understandable. The kids further than he’s ever been away from home. I know one thing we all need to do is rally behind this guy and show him the love and support. Some Are suggesting someone close to him joining him on campus. Everyone is different and mental health is a very serious thing. I hope people don’t start pouring negative energy onto him. This guy is a stud and when he locks in, he could push our defense from good to elite.

Same. How hard is it for players to want to play football and come to Tennessee? There is no way to compromise with NIL, it went from one extreme (coaches and NCAA with all the power) to the other (players and agents with all the power)

With Coleman it's probably quite a shock. He used to be an hour or so from Cleveland and Pittsburgh and now he's looking at Nashville, Asheville, etc as nearby cities. That's a big difference.

While we may think that's much better, those places are nothing like where he grew up in rust belt and steel areas with long established big blue collar industries and neighborhoods, big sports rivalries, etc.

Knoxville likely looks like and feels like a hick town to a kid who comes from steel country.

I grew up 19-20 carrying an M-16 rifle on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, in a world of mud hooches and rice paddies. Sure, everybody is different, but being too homesick to do his job playing ball makes no sense to me at all unless there is something causing it that needs medical attention. Of the hundreds of guys I met in the Army, every one of them was tougher than that.

Many, many came back from that scarred for life, as I'm sure you know, and football isn't a military commitment. While I appreciate your work, it has been shown after wars that it's damaging to a great percentage of young people to experience what you experienced. Necessary, but damaging.

He's not required to be that kind of committed nor paid to think of nothing but "the mission and his brothers" at the expense of his mental health. Again, that kind of life is needed in the world but that's not what playing college athletics is at all.

Mental health is touchy.

We can discuss generational differences, circumstantial/cultural, all that jazz. Reality is this is a game. Is it bad that a kid doesnt have to grow up carrying a rifle? He doesnt have too bc you did. That should give you great pride, imo. Anyway, just a thought.

If Chaz's experience at Tennessee plays out similar to what happened with Nico and Boo, it's on the head coach. Character evaluation is just as important as evaluating athleticism. We will never get where we want to be if we keep throwing money at players who do nothing but hold us back.

Personally, I felt like Chaz Coleman was overrated during portal season. Not that he doesn't have the potential to be a really good player, he certainly does, but seeing everyone treat him like a slam dunk, can't miss impact prospect when he only had 1 sack in 2025 was surprising to me. But that's what happens with former 5-star recruits. Everyone just assumes they're a future 1st round pick.
