In today's edition of the Knoxville News Sentinel, they said that players are getting $400.00 worth of swag for the bowl game.

I saw that as well, I was surprised to see how highly regarded the gift package from the Music City Bowl actually was. It said bowls can spend up to $550 on 125 players from a team in composing their gift package and the University can spend up to an additional $400 on 125 players.

The Music City Bowl has a tier 8 gift package, which is the highest you can get. It has recliners, flat screen TVs, watches, mountain bikes, etc. Players are given 8 points and can spend those accordingly on the tiers. The points add up to monetary values. Also, it said since the bowl games purchase the items in bulk the players are able to get them at a highly discounted rate.

Just shows you that majority of fans are ok with mediocrity...

Yep, Tennessee fans should not even attempt to cheer on their favorite team they grew up with. These young kids and grown adults might actually give a damn more than you think whether it's a bowl game or not. Stop with your selfish BS.

We'll never get more than 8,000 seats as long as Butch is the coach. I bet Saban would have gotten 9,000.

Downtown Nashville hotel rates have been very high for over a year now. There are good hotels with lower rates in the Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Williamson County area.A new parking garage in the downtown area just recently opened. Davidson County Alumni is using Hard Rock Cafe as game day HQ. This will be a fun time event for Vol fans.

I don't know what kind of Nebraska crowd we'll get. The hotels downtown are looking for insane rates. I could probably spend NYE in Manhattan for less than I could in downtown Nashville.

Lol you couldn't spend a night in Manhattan on a random Tuesday for less than anything they could be charging. I mean unless you want to stay in Harlem lol.

A quick glance on kayak showed NYC hotels averaging in the $3-400 range for Dec 30-31. Nashville was $150. VH must've failed math class

UT sold their allotment and have just directed others to the Ticketmaster website. One look at the Ticketmaster site for the game will make a lot in this thread look stupid. The game will be a sellout.

How does a website showing me I can buy tickets almost anywhere I want to sit show it will be a sellout?

Purposely obtuse? Less than 2k tickets left for a stadium that holds 68k and the cheapest ticket left is $77 plus fees.

I see every section with available seats and if you think $77 is expensive for a bowl game, well, I laugh at you. It's standard if not low.
