I'm not going to read the article, because the grades are dumb. you misundestood my post-- I am not blaming the other items all on coaching.
Those are the reasons those other phases of the game dont deserve such a high grade.
and, Warrior is a beast anyway, who I wouldnt disparage
Trey Smith shouldn’t even be on the team, right? 😏

Yeah, who thinks he smarter than everyone else. He is like the one guy in step in a company of solders with everyone else being out of step as he sees it.

What grades would you give the Vols for the games? Do you think the first half and overall performance is an A+?

All I really had problems with in the first half were the first play for SC and the last few minutes on defense before half time...
It was stated after the game by a player (in interview) that an assignment was missed. Thought that covered it pretty well. As to time before half, Too much celebrating after each play when should have had mind on the next play. This is a problem in all football to me. Why do you celebrate doing something on every play that is your job, nothing out of the ordinary?

For what it's worth I apologize for my responses to your posts. I too am the smartest SOB on this site!! Not that I'am saying your an SOB, just self evaluating!!

Ok......who had the time slot of 34 hours before a negavol troll came on volnation to rile up as many people as possible? Freak has your $25 gift card. Make sure you get your troll guesses in before 6 pm Saturday before the UAB game for your chance to win next week!!!

just read the first couple lines of Pruitt's press conference.
Watching the tape, we didn't play very well the first half.
seems like I'm not the only 'idiot' who thinks we didnt play well the first half. Glad I'm in good company

no way i give coaching an A+. Seems like your scores are skewed based on what happened in the second half. you want to give them a second half A+, fine.

1st play of the game, 75 yard passing touchdown.
2nd quarter drive to the red zone, get stopped on 4 plays.
Right before halftime, give up a big drive and touchdown.
Cimaglia, who has been the most consistent player on the team, missed a pretty easy fieldgoal.
Coach Pruitt picks up a big penalty. Hurt the scoreboard, even if you think it boosted the player moral in hindsight.

I would give the first half a C-, and that's only because of a B effort on the part of the offense.

If I remember correctly, that "EASY" field goal was 46 yards.

Yet another clueless fan. LOL. These plays you are talking about are not coaching errors. You seem to find any little reason to belittle and bash coach Pruitt. Sad that you cannot give the proper credit when it was due.

Whatever man. Check my stats. I don't bash Pruitt and have actually defended him on other occasions. Other people I don't bash include Dooley and Butch. And no, as I posted earlier in this thread, these are not items that I blame on just coaching. There were grades in the article across the board.

Pruitt himself said today in his press conference that there were problems in the first half. So let's hear how you would grade the first half?

I can tell you were not at the game. Coaches "Big Penalty" ignited the crowd which up to that point had been loud but not over the top loud. After that series of penalties and the ones that happened and were not called in the 2nd half, the crowd was electric. The players feed off the energy of the crowd. You could tell the difference in the 2nd half. What would the general say "if the breaks don't go your way, pour on more steam" That is exactly what happened.

FINALLY this team has bought in to what the coaches have been telling them, they are believing they can win. We have been more talented than a lot of the teams we have lost to in the past 10 years because the team did not believe they could win.
^^^This...all day long

Three of your four examples were plays the PLAYERS messed up. How did the coaching staff cause the missed field goal? How do you blame the coaching staff on a good defensive stop? How was the last scoring drive the coach’s fault. The penalty on Pruitt was a case of showing the team he has their back. They responded quite enthusiastically, I doubt they care that you don’t appreciate his fire.

yep, always one who stays dispassionate, while the rest of you guys bounce around like a bipolar man on a Pogo stick.
I haven’t bounced around at all. I have stayed positive. Being consistently negative is a trait I guess. Congratulations on being very predictable. 🤙

I didn’t grade the first half. I look at a whole game. Pruitt and the staff did a great job. Like I said, the specific plays you mentioned were not coaching. It was execution errors. Unless you think the staff teaches the players to screw up. A missed FG is a coaching error? I mean what a joke.
