Kentuckys' defense was awesome. The most points scored on their defense prior to Saturday night was 31 to Ms State.

Hopefully, the players and especially the coaches will watch the film and understand what didn’t work…like being too passive (most of the game) on defense. And more importantly, what did work, like being Uber-aggressive on that last series…sending 5 or 6 players repeatedly allowed us to win. Just about every loss can be, in part, blamed on giving the QB too much time to make a play. If the front 3 or 4 can’t get it done…send more..it’s not cosmic. Fortunately, we did figure it out on the last series and got the win. Learn from that success and the mistakes. GBO!

I just re-watched the KY game. The RB score is way too high. On the next to last series we have the ball on the 9 yd line. 1st down J Wright to the 5. 2nd down J Wright missed a blitzing LB and causes a sack, 3rd down J Wright misses a block on the other LB and KY gets a sack. I know he is a freshman and was only in because all other RB were hurt but his primary responsibility in to look for a blitzing LB and make at least a little bit of a block. If we score a TD in that situation the game is essentially over and the D does not have to make a last second stand.
RB=C- at best.
I agree most of the Defensive scores were too high as well. You cannot give up 612 yds and a fourth and 24 that late in the game to a wide open man.

Has PFF published their grades?

On offense Tillman, Mays, Mays, and Hooker graded in the 70s making up the top 4. Wright and Fant made up the bottom two with grades in the 40s.

To me PFF seemed a little harsh on their grades for our wide receivers and Hooker. I thought Hooker should have been an 80 easily, but I guess they penalized him for putting the ball on the ground three times, even though that's hard to tell who's mistake it was.

Unless I’m completely seeing it wrong, we rush more than 3 or 4 more than half the time.

Nope…we sit in zone and rush our down linemen most of the time. That’s our base package. Which would work if we had more speed on the front but we don’t.

Speaking of the Tennessee O-Line...what is with the "belly Flop blocking' that I saw several times Saturday night??!!

I REALIZE this play was MORE than successful, but there were other times during the game where the O-line just "belly flopped"...with some making ZERO contact with a Kentucky Defensive Lineman...educate me, please to this...?

"Jones, who finished with 100 yards on five catches, also had a 14-yard catch on third-and-long to give the Vols a chance to go for it on fourth down, though he was fortunate to draw a pass-interference penalty on it to keep alive..."

Uh, what? The defender was a full second early on that play.
