blech - home and home with "the dirty dawg knee cappers" instead of Nebraska after they got scared and bought us out. At least its close and might give us a chance to beat an barely top 25 team early.

In 2026 and 2027, Tennessee will be playing a home and home with Georgia Tech as the replacement opponent for the Nebraska series that was dropped by the Cornhuskers back in February.

Tennessee will play in Atlanta against the Yellowjackets in September 12, 2026 and Georgia Tech will make a trip to Neyland Stadium on September 11, 2027.

Tennessee fills schedule hole with home and home against Georgia Tech

Im grateful they were able to fill it with someone other than a cupcake reasonably early so we can get to the top of the charts early.

I just still have a bad taste from back in 2017 when we barely beat them and left us with a bunch of injuries. I know they don't do triple option anymore but betcha they are still a chop blocking bunch of sobs.

But for the chop blocking, otherwise, I like G-tech as a school.
Went to high school with Geep Wade, their OLine coach. Great guy. No, they’re not chop blocking. They run a traditional offense now.

I wonder how many cars will be broken into in College Park. I suggest taking duct tape and a couple of industrial strength plastic bags to cover the window for the ride home.
It’s a lovely area
GT is in mid-town Atlanta not College Park. It does have some sketchy areas around it, although Atlantic Station to the north isn't bad. You can also go visit the Trap Music Museum on Northside just past Tech Pkwy.

If you get to College Park something is wrong unless you flew in. Tech is in a great neighborhood that’s really come a long way in the last 20 years. Just a reminder that the Cheetah gives free admission with a ticket stub…..🤷‍♂️

Georgia Tech is gonna kill us! We’re all gonna die! Everybody that’s ever seen the color orange including sunsets will bleed from the eyes and never ever breathe again.

This is awesome. Tech fans are by and large good people and Bobby Dodd is one of the most underrated venues in college football.

Agreed. The backdrop against the Atlanta skyline is amazing and always looks so cool on TV.

Downside is that the stadium is small and. Many Vol fans are not gonna be able to get tickets.

Still kinda peeved at Nebraska as I was gonna make that trip and was looking forward to it

A Power Four team is a school that is in one of the Power Four conferences, the ACC, SEC, Big 10, and Big 12. These conferences are called the Power Four because they are the most prestigious and influencial conferences based on revenue, media deals, and overall success. It was the Power Five until the PAC-12 was disbanded. So yes, both GT and Vandy are Power Four schools because they are in one of the Power Four conferences

Thanks guys. I remember and understanding Power 5 but forgot the PAC imploded.

?????? Not even close.

My son has an apartment directly across the street from Bobby Dodd - but hopefully he will not still be there in the fall of '26.

It's a great place to see a game.
but
The UT/GT game will almost certainly be at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Ah yeah-I forgot they had that agreement with the MB Dome now.

Bobby Dood lost some of its charm with all the "upgrades". Used to love the old wooden bleachers in the north end zone back before they tore down the Heisman Gym.

You used to be able to "reserve" the stadium for the day which I thought was pretty awesome. Was kinda cool to be on Grant Field playing football with your buddies

Nowadays the view is about the only thing that makes it unique

You still weren't far off with the comments about the plastic and duct tape though man-even in the Midtown area.

Getting your broken into either on or right off campus was basically a rite of passage. Hell, they got me 3x in 4 months one time.

Yikes…..we’ve been to several volleyball tournaments at the Georgia International Convention Center and every time we hear about windows being smashed. They got our coach once too.

Don't be surprised if they move the game to the Benz. This will be a fun (and likely more competitive game than many expect) and Tech will want as many tickets sold as possible. I'm sure the extra 25K they can fit into the Benz will mean this one is a great game to move. Imo, this will be treated as a marque game and Nebraska would have been just another game on the tube.

GT is a good replacement game. Our fans will certainly find it easier to get to Atlanta than they would have trying to get to Nebraska. Lincoln is like Fayetteville, AR. It ain’t the end of the earth but you can see it from there.
