Vols ranked but behind UGA????

We just need to win our SEC games...We aren't going to be in a NC game this year, so lets just win the next game, and then the next game, then the big one in Atlanta

UT never gets respect from the media or coaches in these polls. They blew out georgia and should be ranked way ahead of them.

The way we've been playing, I don't blame them. We gotta re-earn our national respect. This weekend was a start.

freakin stupid about the AP poll? Georgia-still ranked higher than the VOLS, Texas "BONG HORNS" ranked higher than aTm, and USC still in the top 10. What does it take. Not to sound like a homer but when my aggies lost to the drug dealers in "the U", they fell off the freakin map completely. I'm not saying they are world beaters but right now....hmmm..they ARE better than Crack Brown's boys. Texas = 0 fer in confrence. Sell tickets with that AP. And as for Georgia over ranking Tenn. Re-freakin-diculous. I expect this kinda crap for the trojans though. It was the first loss in what....100 years...., but it was a loss to a 40 point pooch. Still top 10? Injured QB. Its cool though, they dont recruit...."they reload." A-bunch-a-BS imo.

You lost me when you started talking up A&M.

I'll try again. Texas A and M University is currently BETTER than The University of Texas in football. You see, aTm has no confrence losses where as Texas lost to 2 other teams in confrence. Its quite simple. TEXAS IS OVERRATED and it shows how stupid the AP voters really are. OU will not, I repeat, NOT win a NC this year. I hope this was helpfull. If anyone needs any more clarifications on how the Big 12 breaks down, let me know.

An Ag school that was annihilated by a team beaten by North Carolina Saturday. Yeah, real impressive resume. Maybe Franchione can start sending his sleazy newsletter to the pollsters to drum up support.

yeah your right. I mean its not like this "ag school" has any credibility for anything. Gimme a freaking break Screech.

Wins: Montana State, Fresno State, Louisiana-Monroe, Baylor, and Oklahoma State.

Losses: U. of Miami.

I thought maybe OK State was a quality win, but the Cowboys lost to Georgia. So, er... where is the credibility?

ummmm. I never said they didnt play high school teams to start out. Yup, your right on that. North Carolina did make the U look stupid. Look back at how this started though, about 6 or 7 crappy posts up, what I said was aTm should be ranked higher than Texas at this point. If they are not in the top 25, cool. But dont put Texas in the top 25 either. Its stupid. Kinda like putting GA infront of VOLS. As far as the cracks on aTm and their "army". Its not even worth commenting on. And by the way, Fran will be leaving shortly after seasons end by my prediction but only on a few circumstances. Loss to Texas Tech. Loss to Texas. I think we are all prepared to lose to Ok. but are hoping for the best.

It's hard to draw a parallel between UT/UGA and Texas/TAMU because UT just stomped Georgia, but Texas doesn't get the opportunity to stomp TAMU until the end of the season.

I agree that UT should be ranked about one spot higher than UGA though. That would have made more sense.

and Texas either not ranked in the top 25 at all, or at least behind aTm. Its a screwy system that rotates around the $'s. The greatest thing for the big backers was when USC v Texas NC game happened a few years ago. Everyone filled their pockets, but now, when those teams slip up, they still dont lose in rankings. That is dumb.

Ranking are not who is better, it is a function which takes the previous weeks rating and looks at how each team did. UGA moved down and UT moved up, They should be called computer polls as well, because honestly the coaches and ap polls could almost be produced by a computer which memics what the voters do.

The human polls have been, are, and always will be incredibly subjective, inconsistent, and downright atrocious. Ranking UGA above UT right after that game was played causes those polls to lose all credibility going forward. Heck, Oklahoma above South Carolina??? SC just beat a team they all had in the top 10, and SC's only loss was at #1. OU lost to an unranked team. No credibility. I won't have a chance to update my spreadsheet until after exams. Until then, the top 25 remains a mystery to me.

This is why polls mean squat. UT has lost 2 games to teams (now) ranked with an average of 6th. Florida has lost 2 games to teams with an average current ranking of 12. And Auburn was unranked at the time. Yet we are 12 spots back of them and below the team we just demolished. We need a playoff.

Just think: If there were a playoff, we could still qualify by winning out and winning in Atlanta.

I wouldn't worry about polls. If we win out, and get to Atlanta, the polls will take care of themselves.
