Walking back in from practice, #Vols kicker Brent Cimaglia drilled a 61-yard field goal in the indoor facility

A couple guys who were absent Tuesday were back at practice today, as Dominick Wood-Anderson was working with the tight ends and Jerrod Means was back with the receivers. Alontae Taylor, who pulled his hamstring Tuesday, was on the bike, along with Wanya Morris and Jordan Allen. Jahmir Johnson was working inside with the S&C staff.

Jauan Jennings did spend a period throwing passes to fellow receivers against walk-on corners and ex-DBs like Deangelo Gibbs and Tyler Byrd. Gibbs picked off Jennings’ first pass, but the senior wideout did have big completions to Cedric Tillman, Jerrod Means and Ramel Keyton.

Jarrett Guarantano once again took all the opening reps, with JT Shrout going second initially, only to flip with Brian Maurer halfway through the drill. Overall, all three quarterbacks threw the ball well Wednesday.

Defensively, freshman nose tackle Elijah Simmons got lots of reps Wednesday, routinely running at the front of the line with the DL unit. Tracy Rocker had praise for Simmons, Kurott Garland and Matthew Butler but scolded Aubrey Solomon and Savion Williams more than once.
Jeremy Banks was very hobbled by a right ankle injury, barely making it through walk-through drills.

The Vols were having their younger wideouts work on releases against a couple of scout-team defensive backs, but it wasn't always so straightforward. Graduate assistant Tyler Murphy, a former quarterback at Florida and Boston College, was throwing the passes as Tee Martin coached up his players, but then Jauan Jennings played the role of quarterback. Then Georgia transfer Deangelo Gibbs took a couple of reps as the defensive back and Tyler Byrd did the same.
Jennings put a few passes on the money, though, including a wobbly-but-impressive deep ball caught by freshman Ramel Keyton, and Cedric Tillman later came down with a good catch over the middle against tight coverage from Byrd.
Morris looks likely to be limited this week while recovering from the injury suffered at Florida at the weekend, while Taylor came up hobbling after a rep late during the open-viewing period of practice on Tuesday and Gooden and Allen are recovering from longer-term injuries.
Tennessee's safeties worked on their zone coverage drops with freshman Jaylen McCollough getting lots of work at both the Star and safety positions with Derrick Ansley.

LB depth just took a serious blow.

Wes Shuler will be starting by Bama game at this rate..

Jennings has come a long way from that rather saucy curse-laden video post. Funny thing about him is I've never once doubted how much he cared. He was a warrior from day one. And to see him go from telling off the previous staff, to earning his spot back ... he may not win a championship but he sure seems to have the mentality of a champion. He's in my Vol Hall of Fame, for sure.

So now we have a Sr WR taking reps at QB, a 5 star LB playing offense and defense and a RB playing MLB. Yeah, Pruitt doesnt need more time to get players in.
At this point if we were to win I’m sure you’d blame the other team for sucking so bad and not give Pruitt any credit.
