Vols Practice Thread Tuesday

This is truly funny! Hahahaha! It just never stops. I have never seen so many football coaches in one spot. Honestly, not trying to single one person out, but I’m more embarrassed by our fan base than our record. I’ve been a fan for 40 years. It hurts me bad to see our team in this shape. Vols football, and football in general has always been my favorite hobby. I played for as long as I can remember and all through high school. I read about it and follow it all year. I LOVE IT AND I LOVE MY TEAM! I ask that all of you try and learn some basic football concepts. Maybe it might help you realize the situation this staff is in. It’s an all-star staff, PERIOD!!!! Whatever.
If you've been a fan for 40 years and cannot recognize Pruitt's mistake with first sticking with JG and now continuing to do so... then you need to be embarrassed for yourself.

Everyone makes mistakes. I can only speak for myself but a guy who tries to correct them should be given some slack. If he sticks with JG... he isn't seeing or correcting his mistake. JG simply doesn't have the head or leadership to play QB for UT at this point in history. Maybe never... but definitely not now. UT needs someone with moxie who makes good decisions and exudes confidence. That ship has sailed with JG.

At some point, Battle Jr. is going to learn to stop stepping on the rakes.

If you honestly thought UT had a chance against UGA, especially after week 1, you've got significant issues.
No one with a serious face thought Tennessee stood a chance against Fla, UGA or Bama this season but I at least thought they might have been competitive in one of those. Oh well seasons over so it really doesn't make a damn

I hope there is a change at QB......what Tennessee has been doing is not working.

If there isn’t I can only say Pruitt is playing for the future and not now or this season.

I mean no need to give someone a real chance, have them gain experience and maybe get better and possibly have a QB controversy next year.

And I don’t even think Maurer has it.....but dang give him the chance.

Obviously JG is over BUT you Aren’t beating UGa w ANY QB so why get a freshman killed in his first start ? Is that smart ?

Yes it has. Every once in a while jg comes up with a good play, but too few and far between. We have never won with jg at qb and it will continue this way as long as he is qb. We might win one more game with him as qb.If jg is qb, I look for us to not score a td again against Ga. unless the defense comes up with a score.

Uh use your Brains , you really goin to send a true Fr in for his first and or 2nd start vs the best team in UGA history and #1 Alabama??? Think that’s a good idea ?

Sheesh

So you send in an incapable asset who holds back the development of your entire offense?

Give the other two quarterbacks the time you are wasting with JG02. Against Georgia and Alabama, give them maximum protection and make the reads as simple as necessary for them.

If you are looking to build for 2020, then you aren't doing it by playing a Division III quarterback.

You don't get him killed, you let him have the game expierence and when you do throw let it be quick 3 step drop throws. I agree we not going to win but let him and the other qb as well get real game expierence, and we could still make a bowl game. We certainly are not going to with jg

I have no expectation of even getting into field goal range with JG as QB against Georgia.

1 or both backups will see action against the dogs, JG isn't going to be able to take all the hits. Hell who's the 4tn string guy, we might see him.

You are so right, I agree 100%. With jg we won't even score a td

I agree with you we won't win this game, but I never understand this idea a freshman will get hurt or ruin his confidence. Same excuse every year we talk about starting an underclassmen
