Why would you move Bituli from the middle? Bituli will be used exactly the same way Alabama uses their MLB.

To get the best four linebackers on the field at the same time.
Who knows what will happen with injuries and player development this year. But, the coaches don't see Bituli married to an inside position. It would limit their options to do so.

You can just tell toto has the speed we have been lacking at LB for quite awhile at Tennessee.

It's possible he thought Trey was just going half speed.
You know, I had a similar thought the other day but didn't say anything because I don't want to make a big deal about it, it was just a thought. I wonder if others aren't really giving their all when up against him?

Behr, this was my thought as well, maybe others have been told "not to go full throttle" on him. Working him in slowly?

Don’t know yet how they will play but at least they are starting to look like football players. The difference in size is amazing since Pruitt got here till now.

I'm loving these positive reports about Nigel Warrior.

Warrior ascerting leadership!! Ansley stepped back letting Nigel Warrior take command and bark at the troops for not being in formation ready to go.

Hopefully Nigel Warrior can tighten up his pass protection and be in line for a monster year. His run stopping and physicality has never been in question.

Legacy. It's in his blood.
This was the best read of the practice notes to me. Great to see some real leadership. Chewing that arse!!!!!!

I agree, we need some solid leadership in a bad way. One of those things that I often forget how important it is.

Also cool Ansley "stepped aside".

I hate repeating myself, but although I don't expect to win them all, I want to win them all, but no matter how many we do win... Please for the love of red meat, play like your life depended on it for 60 minutes each week.

God bless the pygmies down in New Guinea. Amen.

It's all hopes at this point obviously but imo, we're going to see what all of Pruitt's "right way" actually means.

Think we're already seeing progress in many of our upper-classmen with real competition.

The LB position group is interesting. If Ignont, when healthy, and Henry T. are 2 and 3 behind Bituli in the ILB spots, I think Bituli can kick out to OLB with little decrease in quality with Bituli opposite of Taylor. If that’s the four best guys at LB, my guess is that personnel group will be a core one. I say this merely because the Kivon Bennett and Deandre Johnson competition hasn’t seemed to have a clear winner from the practice updates and one has to think Bituli could play that spot better than either of them. If that’s the starting four, there would be options for Bennett, Johnson, Harrison, and Crouch at the OLB backups and Page and Peterson as the ILB backups. That feels good to me.

I get it, and like I've said before and I'm obviously not the only one that has, we could be witnessing the beginning of something special.

Obviously we all know it might not be, but it's more fun for me to lean the other way.

I'm enjoying the ride man, thoroughly!

Heck, just the thought of playing real SEC football on both sides of the ball, is exciting to me, been awhile.
Between our recent attempt at reinventing and the prior, DD "we don't need no stinking defense" technique, it's almost a foriegn concept lol.
Gonna be fun.

There's a lot of pieces to this puzzle.
Henry T and Bituli can play OLB.
Bituli has shown good pass rush ability.
He was put at DE by Jancek when he first got here.
Crouch played MLB all spring now he's at OLB and looking good there!

To get the most out of players, you have to create competition. Henry T is already surging and JJ Peterson is already beginning to tag along with him.
Those two are the future of our ILBs...and they're only Freshman. Guys like Reid and Ignot are tested and are a big part of the competition! But eventually the better talent wins out when all players are putting forth the best effort.

Yesterday they showed a clip of Roman Harrison and Quvarius Crouch blitzing off the edge. There is a NOTICABLE difference in speed from those two than the rest of the OLBs. Bituli won't get much time at OLB I believe. Crouch and Harrison have to see the field. D Johnson has been a good player.
.so has Ignot. So has Jamir Johnson on offense, but cream will rise to the top.

That's how you win championships. Recruit better players and have them earn their starting spot

Didn't Bituli rush the passer alot on 3rd Downs in the spring game?
