Vols Practice Thread #5

no clue. but i think situationally, it would make sense for him to get game film on as many qb's as possible.....

a) they should both be on the roster next year, and need live game reps
b) we have no idea if JG stays, goes pro or transfers as a graduate
c) HB is an x factor, so i would want as many "answers" as i could get if i'm thinking about the future beyond this season

so, i would say yeah.

but i dunno.
:)
Exactly. But, I'm often surprised with how many OCs just use them for hand-offs. Extremely important for just getting the feel and time in the spotlight but I still want to see enough throws to know if accuracy is impacted by being under the lights.

Hope he mixes it up.

I’m not a defensive guy but I gotta admit the Gooden news has me a bit concerned. I hope someone steps up because if Solomon isn’t cleared by now it ain’t happenin.
You're wrong about Solomon as it's not an uncommon situation with the NCAA clearinghouse. They have done things the same way for years and it's not uncommon for eligibility to be granted days before the season starts, there are probably as many as 1000+ athletes every year whose eligibility is cleared after their respective seasons start. You've been way off on a couple of things this post, especially when you said QBs are the hardest position to evaluate.

Just an opinion I share with many others that I’ve known over the years. But I do hope like hell youre right about Solomon.

Gerald Williams comes to mind. Man, that guy had a helluva ride trying to play for us

So you understand my position on BM from personal experience. I’m sure you knew well before anyone what he was likely to be at the next level because you got to see it first hand.
Yes but it was different. Heath was pursued by every top program in the country. The recruiting sites weren’t established. If they had been he’d have been a top 50 recruit
