Vols Picked to Finish 5th in SEC East

Nobody knows how much Garcia has actually improved until at least a few games into the season. Off season and game situations are much different. I'm not saying Garcia hasn't improved, just saying no one actually knows until they put the pads on and start playing games.

My prediction for the sec east:

1. Gators
2. South carolina
3.Georgia
4. Vols
5. Kentucky
6. Vandy

I disagree with SC, until they can prove they won't make another late season collapse once conference play gets hot and heavy I simply cannot give them the benefit of the doubt. They've given me to many reason not to in the past 5 to 8 years.

I'll be more specific. He has improved in and off the practice field. He has done much better with his conditioning, strength workouts with trainers and coaches, has been studying tapes more and is putting more time and effort into his practices this summer. He has also improved his practice stats.

Can he put that on the field? As you said, nobody can say yet.

Here is one of the few articles briefly mentioning a few of those points:

"He's matured a lot," DiMarco said. "I've seen a huge change since he's come to campus. He's busting his butt, putting in the extra effort. He's working on his own with the receivers this summer, things that haven't been done before.
"Two or three times a week he's been going to the indoor facility and throwing to the receivers. He's been watching film on his own. Hopefully, that will translate to the field and he'll have a breakout year this year. With a year under his belt, he'll hopefully see receivers downfield he didn't see last year."

Valid point. South Carolina scheduling over the past several years have given us Georgia early, Vandy and Kentucky mid-season and then UTjr, Arkansas, Florida and Clemson. Those are usually four tough teams to end a season on.

Oh look, another SClite troll telling us about the quality of their football team.

Amazingly, none of his predecessors have ever been right. It's highly unlikely he's right and his successors will continue the trend. Beautiful level of consistency and mirrors Garcia's. Who'da thunk up irony like that?

heck Vandy's been tough for USCjv in recent years. Congrats on ending their streak over the gamecocks

I can see your point. However with the talent they got returning, Garcia being the most experience qb in the east, this is going to be south carolina's best chance to win the east. Or atleast finish high

I love seeing posts like this.

Translated it means: Lets stop focusing on the current poor outlook of the UTjr program and focus on something off-topic. [jumps up and down] HEY! LOOK OVER HERE!!!

Yeah I could see carolina or georgia come in second. For fun here is how I see the sec west:

1.Bama
2.Auburn
3.Hogs
4.LSU
5.Miss State
6.Ole Miss

After looking at the schedule I think Auburn is probably more likely to end up at #3 or even #4.
