well are we becoming like Vandy ? Moral victorys. wait until next year, coach after coach, can't get ENOUGH great players to come to UT so UT can compete with the big boys. Vandy could win this year. That could be a good game to watch. However UT can not compete year after year in the SEC. Play in a SEC game yes, but to be a real threat NO. Lets face it they have not. 1998 a Championship. Only after several miracals happened. Then in 1999 UT should have won big but, 8-3. OOO Lane Kiffin has had 2 years now at USC and he is 6 and 1. UT and Vandy should join the acc and play teams like Duke for real.:thumbsup:

go away. we have so few upperclassmen its hard to compete. we will be back. and even in our down time, we are still better than vandy. if dont see how you can claim to be a vol fan and compare us to vandy

Some of the people on here are reacting like the miserable people on gvx. We all know Simms is not good enough. We all knew Alabama was that good. If we don't look better starting next week the complain.

Tennesssee to the ACC conference make it happen someone. We would be a good fit in that league, Agree or Disagree?

Are you really comparing USC to UT? UT pretty much lost an entire recruiting class while USC annually racks up 5* talent. Tonight is a great example of what I'm talking about. Compare Simms to USC's 2nd or 3rd string QB. I love Simms. The kid has a ton of heart. But on a real roster he's working the scrimmage squad.

:dance: you are missing the point and the point is that year after year we have one excuse after another. always! UT can not compete with any real threat year after year. They can not do it. can they play in a SEC game yes. And they always end up in the cellar. Playing Im the best ut fan because I will always play cheerleader win or looses. Ut shoud be in a lower level of conference like the ACC. Face it they just are out numbered. FLA, Alabama, Goergia, Lsu, Alburn, and now South Carolina are better than UT. And if it takes 10 years for UT to be able to compete or be a threat then they need to stepp down to a lower level where they can compete.:whistling:

we were in the sec title game like 4 years ago and have gone through multiple coaching changes. stop being a fair weather fan

:cray: Exactly! UT is no USC, thats why Kffin left. UT is no Fla, they are no Ala, lsu or Alburn. An they never have been. Go look at all of the games UT won in the 1998 championship. about 3 games were Miracle wins. They by your own admission are not USC. But they could compete in the acc. :good!:

seriously, you have to be one of the worst ut fans. we are on hard times, but we arent that far removed from being relevant. if you want us to be in the acc, start rooting for clemson

:cray: ya and that Tennessean coach got ran off because he lost that game. outside of the 1998 championship game there has not been a lot of fair weather seasons.:cray::cray:

you obviously are not a tennessean, UT is always on a hard time. Clemson, now that would be a good game for UT. They might have a chance to win that game. But in the SEC, it will always be the wait until next year talk or we are rebuiilding or we have had a few rough years. we have a new coach etc.

Same old loosing statement year after year. UT should go to the ACC to play their sports so they can be competetive. And UT fans can have a thought of winning.:cray:

he was ran off because he completely lost the team the next year. there has been plenty to be proud of since then. if you seriously think we've been that down in the past 13 years, you really are a fair weather fan and will never understand what its like to be a true, diehard fan

I'm not a tennesseeian? i was raisied in knoxville and went to UT.

So Georgia and USC are perennially better teams than UT?
