success is going to hinge on how quickly the offense picks up the new system and how effective it will be

Where did this writer go to school?

"Special teams play was highlighted by sophomore Daniel Lincoln, who made 6-of-7 field goals tries -- the only miss courtesy of an Eric Berry block from 44 yards away. Punting candidate Chad Cunningham had four attempts for a 43-yard average."

I hope Eric Berry continues to be able to block field goals from 44 yards away. What an animal he'll be on special teams!

Naw, you just missed the memo where they added rocket boots to the average collegiate athletes approved apparel.

I don't if I'd call a defense that allowed 411 ypg in their last 4 games "coming on strong."

I certainly realize the defense should be ahead of the offense at this point. However, I would sure like to see some production out of the running game.

A very valid point. I think that our offensive line is very good, but they need to progress more beyond pass protection. It's not like they are going up against a bunch of Glen Dorsey's every practice.

It seems that Foster didn't even play. I understand the concern about our running game not being very productive despite an experience O-Line, but I am going to assume that the reason is because the O-Line is still trying to adjust to their new blocking schemes, etc. Lets at least hope that is the reason!

Did something happen to Vinson?

Defensive Starters: Tackles Dan Williams and Walter Fisher, ends Robert Ayres and Wes Brown, linebackers Rico McCoy, Ellix Wilson and Adam Myers-White, cornerbacks Dennis Rogan and DeAngelo Willingham, safeties Eric Berry and Demetrice Morley.

When are they set to do the exterior renovations of Neyland and the bricking in of Neyland?

I'm looking forward to see what Vinson can do when not hampered with shoulder problems. Our Db's should be a source of pride this year.

He could have had like 5 or 6 picks at the end of the season last year, but I think his shoulder injury held him back.

Our Defensive backfield is encouraging right now because of what D-Mo brings to the table with E. Barry. We should be vary tight on D.

How do you spell Eric Berry's name wrong. He's basically the biggest star on UT's team. Anyways, I agree. Vinson, Berry, D-Mo, and Rogan/Willingham seem very promising.

I heard they had Jordan Howell shooting jumpers at the stadium from a makeshift stripe. . . .so apparently it's already underway.

Possibly. But there's very little depth. An injury or two and that could be our weakest unit.
