A&M and Ole Miss are also ahead of us. By a lot.If UT wins out hard to think UT won't make the playoffs. Assuming Bama UGA and Vandy all win out except UT knocking off a top 7 Vandy team. UGA beating Georgia Tech would help UT as well. UT losses would be to 2 top 5 teams, one in OT and at Bama. But there is A LOT of football yet to be played. Still have to beat Oklahoma and at the Swamp.
Ole Miss' offense isn't as good as ours. So Ole Miss hung 34 on OU in Norman.
Tennessee should atleast get to 40 points against them in Neyland.
So once again, how do we know that they will OU will put up 40?

I think you might be underestimating Vandy also. As it stands right now I think Vandy will win in Knoxville. They are really good at limiting other teams with a really good defense and a ball control offense. If UT wins out hard to think UT won't make the playoffs. They put ND in 10 times out of 10
If Vandy comes in 10-1 they will likely be ranked in the top 5-6. If we’re 9-2 we will likely be ranked somewhere between 8-11. A loss to us isn’t necessarily going to drop them behind us. Their body of work, even with a road loss to us, will include wins vs at least three Top 25 teams (one of those on the road) while we’ll have no more than two, both at home.Which is why I hope Vandy is 10-1 when we play them. Notre Dame is going to simply move up the polls by all the SEC teams beating each other up.
But what happens when a lower ranked bubble SEC team beats a Top 10 SEC team. That lower ranked team is going to have to slingshot up. And a win of that magnitude while Notre Dame is playing a likely 7 loss Stanford, not sure how Notre Dame can simply slide up.
There will of course be the media narrative on this, but best thing Tennessee can hope for is Vandy being 10-1 when we play. A win there and we likely don't have to worry about anything.

I think we all know we need help to make the playoffs. Aside from winning out we need multiple losses from the group of A&M, Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Vandy. We also need GT and BYU to lose so the ACC and Big 12 are one-bid leagues.
