More like, it's gonna take GOD himself to ride his chariot from the heavens and come to Neyland to run the offense for us to actually finally beat Florida.

So far, Dobbs has hit JJ & Malone over the top in both wins. I'm not sure if we can do it against Florida or not. But I am sure that if we can throw it up the sidelines successfully we will blow them out of Neyland next week.
Not sure if Via Tech feared our passing game before the BoB. Ask them how they feel now.
I couldn't agree more. Our running game should have made us one of the best passing teams in the country, our WRs are rarely in more than single or zone coverage.
I think the part that is going to make it work is how bad they are running the ball. We don't even need to worry about it. They line up in empty backfield sets a ton. With our secondary and strong push on Dline I think we are going to see Del Rio forcing it, and turnovers resulting from that. I have read on here all day that we have the worse of two really bad Olines, but honestly, I don't think so, and I think we have the better Dline to match up to it. Keep their defense on the field, wear them down, and running should get easier as the game goes on.
Ten more days, we get to find out I guess. I'll be in Neyland Saturday (and of course the 24th). I hope I see enough improvement on Oline to feel even more optimistic. Dobbs is OK when he has time. He isn't going to scare anyone through the air, but if he can complete just enough 5-15 yard passes to keep the box open we run all over them.
I just hope we aren't so beat up from it that we lay an egg in Athens the next week. This really is a brutal 4 game stretch.
:lolabove: I was going to post the same exact sentiments before running into your comment. Definitely a sucker line. Which, probability-wise, bodes well for the Vols. And that, my friends, is what is called a sucker line. When it seems obviously too high, the boys in Vegas are begging for the money to go to Florida. Beware such a line. I'm not saying that Florida doesn't cover or win the game, I'm just saying watch out.
i hope you're right, but i think your underrating the defensive match up we have in front of us. as it stands right now, we're very one dimensional, and if that remains the same, we're an easy offense to defend.
Being favored against FL is the death knell. Pack it up fellas, this game's over. We lose.

Butch better find a way this year or I have no use for him. We had them beat the last two years. I was this close to texting my bro in law a hearty "hahahahaha..eat it" message when we were up 27-14...in the 4th damn quarter.
I like Butch...until I think of the Florida games....
He MUST, MUST, MUST beat them this year or he can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.
I like your logic. It all comes down to how clean they can keep Dobbs. If he has some time he's actually a pretty descent passer. And we saw some signs of a scamble drill when he hooked up with Kamara for the TD Saturday night. But you are dead on with what Florida would like to do, 8 in the box and singled up on the outside. Maybe this can be Crooms coming out party. If they are singled up outside he would be man up on a safety in the seam. Might have some LB help underneath but down the field would be open if Dobbs has time to get it off.
