Vols on upset alert in week 10

I guess journalists no longer have time to actually investigate the quality of a team's schedule before writing something like this....
Ga. State, BYU, UTC, UAB, Vandy..........Then look at next year's sked.

Glad they're taking UAB seriously. They will be tough
I can't imagine any team with a loss to Georgia State on their schedule taking anyone lightly. When you think about it, UAB would have probably been favored, had this game been played a month ago. I still struggle with calling this much of an upset - if they do win.

This is a completely different UT Football team than we saw against Georgia State and BYU. This team has grown up before our eyes. We have watched this team, and this staff, turn a corner. A significant one. UT Football is not "back", but it's on the way.

They are nowhere near ready to compete for the SEC Championship, or even the SEC East at this point. But they are a lot closer now than they were in Week 1, and that's a good sign. Maurer is going to do great things at UT. Shrout might be a dark horse. HB is inbound. Hill waits in the wings. And Guarantano all but rose from the dead against South Carolina.

Along the rest of the roster, while we might not be getting 5-stars at every position, we are getting Pruitt's type of players, and that's a huge improvement over what we had. If the current trend continues, the wins will come, and with them will come the top-notch players, across the board. The future bodes well for UT Football.

Honestly, I wouldn't bet against us in any of the remaining 4 games. Not saying we win them all, but this has become a team that doesn't need many breaks to play with any other team out there. Color me impressed with this staff, and this team.

I would not put UT on "Upset Alert" against UAB. I am interested to see how they play now when they are the favored team. If they come out with fire in their eyes and put UAB away early...watch out. A 7-5 record is not out of reach. But we'll see what Saturday brings.

Go Vols.

I don’t think a single player on our team has even remotely forgotten what the losses to Ga State and BYU felt like. Still waaaay too fresh regardless of wins vs Miss St and SCar. I think they view every team as standing in their way of accomplishing their goals. One of which should be to never be THAT team again that showed up the first two games.
I agree with this. If they beat us it'll be because they just beat us....they're not sneaking up on anyone. Personally, I think UT is dangerous for rest of our schedule...playing with confidence and apparent desire to vanquish the dark clouds over Neyland.

I would like to see more offensive production. We looked good last week but if you take away two special team score then it was 10 point game

Have you ever seen the new kid come in with the “Rep” with his chest bowed out? Well, he’s gettin ready to get cold cocked straight in the chin and get dropped. Bituli is seeing his days at Neyland draw to a close. Watch him rally these young dudes. I might miss the opening day of Muzzle Loader season here in NC to come watch. GO VOLS!!!

Not necessarily. You still have 2 offensive possessions starting around midfield if you take those scores away.

Doesn't mean that we would've scored though. I'm just saying that we have to continue to put points on the board and allow our defense/special teams to not carry all of the burden.

The team is too young to act Like a blow out is a guarantee. I love this teams heart and drive but don’t think After a week of being patted on the back there isn’t a chance of a let down. Especially if the are already doing bowl math all week and penciling this game in as a W before they get on the field.
