Out of curiosity (and wanting to enjoy a slight bit of schadenfreude) I went over to look at the Penn State message board on Rivals. It reminded me of the night Kiffin left and other fan bases started to show their true colors (and as**s) on Volnation. What made me embarresed was the fact that a majority of those smearing it in their faces were members of Volquest. Really guys? I admit that Paterno did something completely and unforgivably awful, but coverups happen at every university and I wish we as a fanbase could show a little more class for opposing fans who weren't involved. Besides, its Penn State? Are we really still butt hurt about the Outback Bowl?? Let's stay classy, Knoxville.

I sure would love to land that TE they have commited!!!!!!

In regards 2 your post op Penn State gets all they deserve, having a young son like I do this is one of the worst cover ups i could imagine. Lets also not forget a D.A. with info. on Penn State was ruled a suicide & he just so happened to not have his hard drive in his lap top when they found him??????????

Hasn't PSU's Outback Bowl victory been vacated? Looks like they are losing 100 plus wins too, so we move ahead of them in the all time rankings.

They should have been hit with even more penalties. What they allowed to happen was atrocious and absolutely inexcusable.

yeah PSU may or may not have gotten what they deserve. I think they did.
But the last thing I want to do is rub there face in it. I know there were several fans of opposing schools just laughing at us after the CLK debacle and I swore I would never return the favor.

That is of course if Saban gets pulled over with a bunch of hookers I might change my mind

Some of their fans are delusional. They think the Freeh report was a sham, and it didn't prove anything. They think Joe Pa did everything in his power, and that the police never did anything back in the day so everything was kosher. Blah blah blah. It's pathetic!

But I'm not going to waste my time on a PSU message board telling them how full of **** they are.

I guess I am the only one that felt that while the FB coach was involved in the coverup, the person being "protected" was NOT associated with the FB program. If the NCAA punishes just the FB team it is a travesty of justice. They should either whack the whole AD or just let the frigging law enforcement sort it out and send the guys that covered it up to the Fed Pen.

And yes, who do we stand to get????

agreed. to compare this to other coverups really is kind of disgusting

if you pay a player i don't really care - if you rape a kid everyone should care and you really shouldnt be able to play football imo

this is a game at the end of the day - when an institution gets their priorities this out of whack they are lucky they ever get to play football again

The guy may not have been DC anymore, but he still had a title, an office, and free access to use the athletic facilities to groom his victims.

Also, I'd say a 60 million dollar fine to set up child abuse charities is a solid whack to the whole AD if there ever was one...and good can come from that.

As for heading to the Pen, some of those who lied under oath are likely headed that way. By the time the civil suits are settled, they'll wish they were in jail.

Anyone who is still a fan of that school deserves anything they get.

I call myself a VFL, but if I ever found out UT was covering up child rape I would help burn the place down... just sayin there is NOTHING lower on this earth

I see a couple of 4 star offensive lineman (one of which we offered) and a 4 star QB that we offered too on PSU's Rivals website that may be interested in another school today.

I don't disagree, but maintain that Sandusky had NOTHING to do with the Penn St. FB team. This is much like the SCOTUS deciding that the Nobamacare mandate was a tax giving Congress UNLIMITED authority to tax anything. Where does the NCAA's authority end now that they can punish non-FB personnel for criminal activity? I am not arguing the punishment. I think the punishment should be allowing the parents of these kids and the kids alone with all of those id'd in the coverup for an hour or so no questions asked. I am arguing that the NCAA is NOT the body that should be metting out punishment here.

Really, they got what they deserved? How do the 85 players and new coaching staff deserve this? How does this bring any justice to the victims of Sandusky? How is this any different than if your uncle was Sandusky and you had to go to jail for him? This is a legal matter and the people involved should be held accountable in a criminal court.

Are these kids "players" not victims now also?
