When was the last time the Vols didn't play on CBS the entire season? We'll need to upset Ole Miss to get Bama at 3:30, if we don't we might be on ESPN2 and SEC Network all season.

We haven't won on cbs since 2007 (embarrassing I know). Not having a game on cbs is fine w me.

CBS is typically the biggest conference game of the week, I don't ever remember a season where we didn't at least play on it once, just curious if anybody else remembers a year?

Tennessee has played at least one game on CBS ever since they got the rights to SEC games in 96.

CBS plays the best football games, has the better announcers and has a much better overall production of a game than espn, or abc. no one can beat their theme song either. in 1998 we beat both arky and fl on CBS with Sean mcdounagh and terry Donahue calling those games. Perhaps the best announcing duo ever for college football

CBS picks its games based on fan base size/viewing numbers as much as (well actually, probably more so than) it does team rankings.

They're going for eyeballs, not the best games.

Outside of the cool intro music on-air, there is little else of redeeming quality to be seen on CBS.

I'd go with Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried but Sean and Terry run a close second.

Ya those guys were good too. I don't know why Vern gets such hell. He does get names wrong on occasion, but still a very good announcer.

No he's not. He is past his prime and is a shill just like Musburger. Verne has a great announcer voice but needs to stick with something a little slower, like golf.

Better announcers? Are you for real? Don't you know Verne and Gary suck! I hate Verne's voice and Gary knows nothing of football, nothing he says ever makes sense or comes remotely close to coming to fruition.

Are you serious Clark? I'm not a Verne fan at all but Gary Danielson played QB in the NFL so he has probably forgot more about the game of football than you'll ever know. Citizens arrest, citizens arrest!!!

Ok, just don't take that bullet out of your pocket and put it in your revolver.

His whole life has revolved around sowing the seeds of chaos within the UT athletic department! I refuse to watch any game that scoundrel is a part of!

IMO Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried were the best ever. CBS should hire them both. My :twocents: worth.
